Malcolm Strange is the stage name of composer and performer Colm Clark. His primary influences include The Beatles, David Bowie, Pink Floyd and The Kinks, but he's also influenced by an eclectic range of artists, among them: Charles Aznavour, Amalia Rodriguez, Jobim, Dylan, Can, Captain Beefheart, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Beck, The Smiths, Joy Division, Coltrane, etc, etc.
Clark is a veteran of the NYC music scene, having performed with bands at The Pyramid, Spiral and many others clubs in NYC's East Village throughout the '90s. Always seeking new opportunies of expression, Clark has more recently scored several Off Broadway productions, including The Blue Bird, The Magical Forest of Baba Yaga, Ah My Dear Andersen at Urban Stages. His music has also been featured in MTV shows MADE, My Super Sweet Sixteen and Exposed. Overall, he has written and recorded hundreds of songs in a range of styles--everything from rock, classical, hip hop and country. Malcolm Strange, a.k.a. Colm Clark, is a versatile songwriter and performer, eager to introduce his music to as wide an audience as possible.
