About MALI

Mali was born at Houston’s LBJ Hospital and her parents knew that she was special. At a young age, Mali showed signs of having musical talent. Her parents were encouraging and open to seeing her explore her talents. Mali got her start with public performance at her local Church. She was member of the choir and was chosen to sing in a Church sponsored group. Mali toured with the group until it was disbanded years later. She didn’t accept offers to join other groups. After that experience, the family agreed that she would be better off pursuing a solo career. Mali often performed in school talent shows, local musical events and Churches. In school, she tried sports and did quite well academically. By the time she got to High School, she had built a solid reputation was revered by her peers and adults in the community. Mali organized small, local fashion shows to showcase items that would eventually become her very own fashion line. Later in life, Mali pursued her dream to become a fashion designer, model and Television producer. At times, she has served as a motivational speaker; encouraging youth to focus and follow their dreams. Though her journey was successful, she couldn’t turn her back on her first love; Music. Soon the Fashion Studio and the Television Studio had to yield to the Music Studio. Mali began to write her story; a detailed description of her life experiences. Family, friends, Co-Workers, Community Leaders and Politicians have all (however involuntarily) contributed to her memoires. There have been many trials and tribulations in the life of Mali, but she has prevailed. God has covered and protected her throughout the years for a purpose such as this! Currently, Mali is in the studio completing work on her Debut CD. Some of her select clothing designs are being featured on her video of her first single. Mali has also toured with many well known southern soul artist. Mali holds true to her personal motivational phrase, You can’t just talk about it. You’ve got to be about it!
