"Aside from solid pop/folk songwriting, Malissa Larson brings to the stage a distinct personality and sense of humor. She also brought with her an upright bass player, percussionist, and trumpeter who tastefully accompanied this skilled singer-songwriter. Larson’s sweetly flowing, high floating vocals were the act’s centerpiece, rounded out nicely by the proficient, heartfelt instrumentation of the band members. The full, natural sound and semi-funky vibe of the ensemble resonated with the audience" - http://www.jezebellmusic.com

Bio
Growing up in a house full of acoustic guitar and musical theater Malissa Larson began feeling the "funk" of music from birth. Raised half in Buffalo, New York and half in The Bay area of California she began traveling at a young age and hasn't stopped since. Thus laying the broken home foundation the majority songwriters need in order harness the true "emo" within. Goofy yet serious the music is a working ground for her balance and made in hopes that it will help others find theres. You can find a little Ani, some Feist, and perhaps a little Ingrid Michaelson; all with a touch of smooth slightly raspy vocals. Check out Malissa's new record written on her holiday backpacking through Europe in search of enlightenment (and the best falafel the world has to offer)
