Bio

With the release of their first true full length album, “A Criminal Record”, Malkovich is ready to leave an everlasting mark in the international alternative music community. On this September 2004 release, the band shows their great capability to combine a lot of different influences into a style that they can truly call their own. High-energy rock rooted in hardcore punk and with elements from metal, hardrock and jazzy music. The band’s main focus is writing catchy compact songs with an adventurous touch and intelligent subversive lyrics, while keeping the original intensity that the band had when they started out in October 2000. Supported by a crazy and intense stage presence and highly original and recognisable artwork and merchandise, the band has a whole empire awaiting in front of them.

Over their 4 year existence Malkovich has grown from a promising local act into a full grown international player that receives a lot of support from all over the globe. The road to success has not been travelled with the speed of light, instead the band chose to take it step by step without losing their heads. This choice will make sure that the impact they’ll finally have will be of the long-lasting kind. This long road they travelled has cost them 1 line-up change and took them past 125+ shows this far, including a tour with Modern Life Is War and shows with bands like Give Up The Ghost, JR Ewing, The Hope Conspiracy, Shai Hulud, Some Girls, Das Oath, The Icarus Line, Madball, Burst, etc. etc. etc. In fact the guys in Give Up The Ghost were so impressed by Malkovich’s live show that they asked the band for main support for the full summer 2004 European tour. Unfortunately Give Up The Ghost split up and the tour never happened. In 2005 the band was one of the “Best Live Acts” at the Noorderslag Festival in Groningen, they did a European tour with Modern Life Is War and they’re still playing their explosive show each week everywhere they want! In September 2005 the band will play the famous CMJ Festival in New York, followed by a full US tour.
