Bio

Raw, potent, and talented are just a few words that could be used to describe the lyrical ability of rapper Mally aka Mally Don’t Shoot Em. For Mally, whose real name is Jamal Smith, the journey began at age 10 when he started rapping. Seeing his uncles and cousins’ involvement in music grew fed his hunger and influenced him to start writing rhymes himself at age 13. He knew his way with words would eventually pay off.

“Artists that inspired me to rap were 2pac, Biggie, Hot Boyz, No limit, Lil Wayne, Reed Dollaz, Meek Millz, Cassidy, T.I., Jeezy, Jay Z, 50 cent.” - Mally

In 2007, while in high school, he started recording with a group of friends called RLG. They uploaded their music to their MySpace page and people loved it. In 2009, Mally graduated high school and soon after left Miami to attend FAMU full time. While at Famu he continued to record and put out music and created quite a little buzz around campus. But after playing high school football and not receiving a scholarship to play in college, which would have been well deserved, Mally decided to focus on his music and after two years of college he decided to take a time out and returned to Miami.

In 2012, he and his partner Batho started the label Money High and dropped Mally’s first mixtape, #KILLINGSPREE, in August. He has also been featured on “DJ Tony Go Hard: Grinding Since a Baby Dade County Edition”, “DYFL: Vice City”, and “Blow - City Of The Homicide”.

Currently, Mally is wrapping up recording for his second mixtape, #KILLINGSPREE2. You can also expect a lot more from this young vibrant artist in the months to come. His buzz is constantly increasing and more and more people are starting to realize that this kid really got BARS.
