Mama Sol & Tha N.U.T.S. is an American Hip-Hop/Neo Soul band hailing from Michigan. They are known for fusing lyricism and live instrumentation together to bring an undeniably eclectic energy to Hip-Hop while preserving the culture. With a solid female lyricist at the forefront, the band has established their own distinct sound that amazes live audiences and captures the attention of any listener within reach.
The band has opened up for and collaborated with many different artists from various genres and are currently gearing up to open for Hip-Hop pioneer, Rakim, in August of 2011.

Mama Sol (Lyricist/Spoken Word Artist)
Mama Sol has shared the stage with acts such as Kindred the Family Soul, Mos Def, The Last Poets, George Clinton, Raekwon, Destiny’s Child, Cee-Lo Green, RUN-DMC, and many more. She has worked with the clothing label, FUBU The Collection, at its peak in the late 1990s, helping to develop advertisement for the company and working alongside music video extraordinaire, Hype Williams, on FUBU’s television commercials.

De'Jaye (Drummer/Producer/Songwriter)
De’Jaye, student of (R.I.D.) Recording Institute of Detroit, has played with an array of R&B acts including Jazmine Sullivan, Anthony Hamilton, and Flint, MI's own Ready For The World.

GT (Bassist/Composer/Producer)
GT has shared the stage with some of music's heavy hitters such as Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, The Dramatics, Case, 112, Montel Jordan, and Obie Trice to name a few. He is a two time winner of the Hot Licks Championship for Bass in Maryland and Virginia and was nominated as the top instrumentalist at the Detroit Music Awards as well as the (WAMMIES) Washington Area Music Assoc.

Ron (D.J./ Engineer/Producer/)
Utilizing the top musical production programs such as Sonar, ProTools, and Serato, Ron brings the band's music together in its final stages while adding on the finishing touches. He is also the band's official DJ inside the studio and during live sets.
