About:
Mama’s Porch is a band hard to categorize, as it doesn’t quite fit into any specific genre. Female and male fronted harmonies that will melt you. Laced with elements of folk, rock, and blues, these original songs pull the user along a very eclectic and entertaining journey.

From the very first note, singers Corey Gooley and Heather LeAnn pull you in with their interweaving harmonies. The vocal purity of LeAnn’s angelic voice mixed with the raw edginess that Gooley exudes creates a truly mesmerizing experience. The vocal ability might be what first catches the audience’s attention, but the surrounding influences that fellow band mates Ryan Mitchell, Tim Burgoyne, and Chris Lambert bring to the mix are what cause the audience to start tapping their foot on the floor.

Influences ranging from heavy metal, reggae, and even funk, Burgoyne and Mitchell create a smooth energetic sound that greatly enhances the vibe. Having experience playing alongside national acts such as Ekoostik Hookah, Mitchell brings a variety of percussive elements that flow between congas, tambourines, a cajon, and a full acoustic kit. Additionally, Mitchell’s previous band, Daughters and Sons, won a CEA award in 2009 for best funk band. Combine this with Burgoyne’s mix of soul jarring bass lines and you have yourself the backbone of Mama’s Porch.

Much of the songwriting is generated from Gooley who first learned he had an interest and ability in writing at the age of 15. Influenced heavily by the alternative music movement, Gooley’s song writing was heavily laden with a feel reminiscent of bands such as Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, and Green Day. However, his musical journey turned full circle - and by his late 20s he was writing songs more along the stylings of Folk Rock icons, The Avett Brothers and Jack Johnson.

In 2011 LeAnn made the long journey from Missoula, MT to Cincinnati, OH. She brought with her a slew of gorgeous original folk music. Being raised in a military family, Heather was able to experience many new places and cultures at a young age. In her early 20s LeAnn pursued her dream of music even further by performing in opera theatre and obtained a minor in music. This educational experience increased her range of musical mastery and she left with an exceptional skill in aural perception. This background helped shape her lyrical prowess and gave her the ability to create a simple story and wow her audience with its power.

Further enhancing the already robust music that the band generates, is the lead guitar of Chris Lambert. Lambert’s guitar style is the perfect addition because of its unique and varied style. It ranges anywhere from alternative, country, pop, funk..., blues...you name it.

Additionally, Lambert brings a wealth of experience to the table. He has written for and worked with many different artists/people. Some of them include:

Universal Records, MTV, 20th Century Fox, Blessid Union of Souls, Emosia, Erwin Musper, The Cincinnati Reds, Sam Crowley (EverydayIsSaturday.com), Di Lemme Development Group, Dr. Joe Esposito, Day of Fire, Tosha Music, Chaselounge, Jameslee Music, and many more!

Although each member of this group has such varied and different musical histories, it only enhances the uniqueness that Mama’s Porch provides to its fans. Their energy and cohesiveness introduce these fans to a new vibe and bring them to a place where they can kick their feet up for a moment. A place where they can lean back and get comfortable. A place where music feeds the heart. A place…….called Mama’s Porch.
