Biography

The band Manabozo has amplified its habits by pulling and dragging many styles, tempo's, and feels into what they play. A reformation of the Columbus Ohio live band, “Amongst The Grass” which specialized in mixing many influences and many genre's. They have worked together to force a evolution of their sound, as well as a revolution of their name.
Unmistakably, their sound is their own. Their song topics vary from many subjects from monsters, historic events, personal stories, folk lore and what ever the music suggests. The name may have changed, but Manabozo is made up of the same three members including Scott on bass and vocals, Vlad on Guitar, and Kly on Drums.
Vlad, who's talents stretch from being a metal bass player in Russia, to an acoustic performer in NYC. He is the kind of guitarist that makes you really glad you made it to the show. There is a wide rang of instruments he can play, and has acquired a real interest in the fundamentals of sound.
Scott, once a guitarist for the "Primus" cover band “Miscellaneous Debris”. Years later he discovered his true calling in bass and singing. Performing many acoustic acts, with radio appearances he transitioned his free style approach into original song and riff writing.
Kly, a nomadic drummer from Cincinnati Ohio, playing in such bands as the "Ronnie Franks Project" and "Good Intentions". He is a drummer with the ability to tackle many styles fitting ManaBozo's personality perfectly.
Manabozo's songs; “Solid Ground”, “Saturday Night Fright”, and “Time” make up old classics played as “Amongst The Grass” live. While new songs; “Homemade Stockade”, “Dippy Trippy”, and “Short Term Solution” show the band has really learned to enhance their styles of playing.

Lyrics

Eye Blaze

Written By: Scott Dods

You got a little chance to settle it up.
Take full advantage, and you never get enough
If your going to be stupid, you better be tuff.

Not that you care.
It might give you a big scare.
Oh''they like to keep you so prepared,
Maybe there's a difference, and you need your own air.

*Oh I say I blaze
Even take it to the Highway
Turn to pass fire my way
Never mind, it's so fine this way

*oh I say I blaze
Try to forget how they shy away
Let them see your mind today
Never mind, they'll make you stay

***You call us so wrong
All-ways get to this same problem
All-ways come to me to solve them
Then you see that you are all them

Solid Ground

Written By: Scott Dods

Anything but anything
keeps me around
oh my feet are planted in solid ground

step to the edge and
take that bow
pushed the king and took his crown

(ch)
oh it is you that makes me dream
oh keeps my head above the seam
oh for that way ill never go
girl close my eyes ill never know

there cup is full oh
but they want some more
dug with there nails to get to the core

forgiveness is clever but
it ain't so true
the same old souls will keep on haunting you.

(ch)
oh it is you that makes me dream
oh keeps my head above the seam
oh for that way ill never go
girl close my eyes ill never know

there cup is full oh
but they want some more
dug with there nails to get to the core

forgiveness is clever but
it ain't so true
the same old souls will keep on haunting you.

(ch)
oh it is you that makes me dream
oh keeps my head above the seam
oh for that way ill never go
girl close my eyes ill never know

but don't close those eyes up over me!
