Bio

Manamana(muh-nah-muh-nah) was started by a group of close friends who wanted to get together to make great music and put on an amazingly entertaining live show.
Their 1st show was planned as a 1 off gig to fill a time slot when Butch Bobcat and P. Shway's old band had to drop off the bill. With under 4 days to get ready for the show, they brought in Mr. Saturday Night and Nomad(both from Butch's other band at the time) for this show and would play several songs that Butch had previously written. At the show, they received the best ovation from the crowd throughout the whole night. Shortly after they had finished playing, they were asked to play on several bills in the next month which led to the band needing a name. A friend of the band said that they looked like muppets on stage in the way that they were jumping and bouncing around. Then in unison, they all started singing the Manamana song from The Muppet Show.
Knuckles joined the band on the bass for their 2nd show and Nomad on 3rd guitar for their 3rd show making Manamana a 5 piece and completing the line up. With all 5 members solely concentrating on Manamana they were playing out wherever and whenever they could over the next several months gigging throughout North and South Carolina all the while honing their sound and building a solid fan base throughout the Carolinas.
Manamana has come to be known for their highly and entertainingly energetic/flamboyant live show. Having 4 singers complimenting the 70's groove metal stylings of Nomad, thrash/hardcore and classical influence of Butch, anthemic arena sound of Mr. Saturday Night, the thunderously prog-groove drumming of P. Shway, and bass lines buried deep in the pocket of Knuckles, Manamana's songs have evolved into a uniquely powerful, in your face yet techniquely melodic sound giving you an eargasm every time that you listen to them.
