Bio

Forming a band in a quiet Norwegian coastal town is all work, no play. Or wait - actually it's probably just all play. Anyways, Manatee Racket has grown from being an unknown local act, to playing at Norway's highest renowned venues, warming up for the indieband The Wombats twice, and getting to the finals in the Norwegian Zoom competition for unsigned bands.

Shamelessly, the lads steals from the British indie pop scene, and they use all means possible to give the crowd a melodious rollercoaster so catchy that you'll only be able to stand still if both your legs are broken. Over the years, this has made the band an famous, almost infamous, for their gustily intense live shows.

A necessary, labor intensice hibernation in their band collective in Oslo, has made the boys of Manatee Racket eager as 16 year old virgins when it comes to getting their debut album on record. Unless the world ends, 2011 will be the year. Manatee's fresh material has evolved, or rather been revolutionized, since the band packed their flightcases and moved from their small coastal town of origin to the Norwegian capital. More exploring. More challenging. More detailed. Strictly speaking, more.
