Man Chyna‘s new rap spills the T, but does not drink it, hunty. Just to be clear, a song called Brokeback That Ass Up by a chinese hip hop homo from Canada turns out to be exactly as bad as it sounds, but such is its charm. Played wisely, Brokeback That Ass Up is sure to unsettle kindly palefaced midwesterners, spook immigrant grandparents of all flavors, and can actually be used to banish Andrew Breitbart’s ghost. ManChyna burst onto the scene with his 2012 mixtape, Allegiance to the Fag, bringing together homo rhymes, electro sounds, and hip hop swagger. He’s toured all over Canada and China, from Beijing to Vancouver. In Toronto, ManChyna is a Steers and Queers favourite. He's also played Winnipeg art galleries, rap shows in Montreal, rodeo parties in Ottawa, and dive bars in Shanghai. Highlights have included dancing for electroclash royalty, Peaches, and opening for political funny man rapper, Heems (Das Racist) on his recent tour in China. His video, 'Brokeback That Ass Up,' debuted at The Inside Out Film Festival and has been curated at the Vancouver Queer Film Festival and at the Los Angeles Pacific Asian Film Festival. This "gay rural Chinese rapper," has been described (outragedc.com) as, "literally all of tea party's worst fears," and his work "is sure to unsettle kindly palefaced midwesterners, spook immigrant grandparents of all flavors, and can actually be used to banish Andrew Breitbart’s ghost." ManChyna’s second mixtape, Enter Fagneto, is dropping in the summer (2013); check out a couple of the unreleased demos in the audio section. XOXO
