Bio

Mandalyn May's eclectic blend of catchy, melodic, and foot stomping tunes embrace the deep roots and wide range of the term 'Americana'. Whether performing solo or with a full band, she engages the audience with stories and sing-alongs.

Her voice is distinctive and haunting - her Scottish roots give her a natural celtic flavor, but her gypsy-style upbringing has added a depth of character to her sound that is as uncommon as it is accessible. Whether she's singing about changing the world, finding/losing love, or the simple pleasures and general ridiculousness of life, she imbues her songs with a straightforward sense of humor, joy, and lyrical grace.

An active member of the ukulele community in Northern CA, Mandalyn has taught and performed at ukulele festivals throughout the Northwest. She is also the producer of the annual We 'Heart' Ukulele Festival in Chico, CA. She is available to teach workshops in bluegrass and pop ukulele, intro to jamming, percussive strumming techniques, and songwriting.
