Music Comments: The music inside Devilscaretaker isn't quite as scary as it would seem by the cover outside. In fact, some of the tracks such as "Inner Me... Enemy" and "Blah Blah Blah" are downright melodic. Softer tones play against the ominous keyboards - along with a few clap tracks and what we have in our ears is something hauntingly soothing and spot-on cinematic.

"Foley Entertainment Music Review"

Dear Jerome,

Thanks for submitting the material for the evaluation. You did a fine job with the songs. Your lyric writing in particular was quite strong. To give you insight to the scoring scale above, the majority of artists score in the 2.5 to 3.5 range in the various categories. Whenever an artist sees a 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 or 3.5 as a score in a certain category (or categories) it means that's an area I feel they need to improve and develop. When an artist sees 4, 4.5 or 5 as their score in a category, it's a validation from a professional, confirming that the songs are of the highest level and show strong potential in the ultra-competitive music industry. To really raise the bar, every artist should work hard to earn a 4.5 or 5 in every category. It's a very competitive business and people averaging in the 3's (or less) will probably not get too far without a great deal of improvement and development. I don't give out 4's and 5's easily, so any of those you see, you have earned. Well done!

RATING SCALE: "1" Indicates the Lowest Score "5" Indicates The Highest Score

Bio

Jerome Davis is a producer, DJ, audio engineer based out of Lexington Park, Maryland. Jerome’s music of choice is steeped in hip-hop and rap instrumentals that contain equal doses of dance, experimental, and club sounds. Many of the early songs were created to accompany surfing and skateboarding videos. Though, as a self-taught musician constantly looking for ways to defy conventional music theory, Jerome refuses to be compartmentalized and bound by traditional forms of musical expression. In order to bridge the gap between the melodic hip-hop and dirty south instrumentals of the past with the dubstep instrumentals of the present, Jerome combines years of hip-hop, rap, cinema sounds, andelectronic dance music experiience with a forward-thinking mindset.

The symphonic crescendos, keyboard embellishments, and urban beats with hip-shakingand foot-stomping madness highlight Jerome’s instrumental achievements. Oftentimes, musical inventiveness occurs when previously defined musical genres are shattered and the implication for new reorganization and reassessment is needed. Jerome takes the music-making process to a higher level by practicing the self-coined mantra: “Darkside Meets Dancefloor.” Jerome’s combination of instrumental hip-hop and dance music resemble the work of Clams Casino, Da Riffs and Sledgren. Jerome has produced over 100 independent hip-hop songs for various artists nationally and abroad.

Since the musical inspiration depends on specific points in Jerome’s life, new works capture the growth and plethora of song styles and influences that invade the musical precipice of hip-hop. While many artists focus on lyrical wordplay, Jerome sets his sights and sounds on the instrumental effects of music that reach beyond the surface and probe the darker depths of human achievements. Jerome is currently serving the urban artist community as a music producer, engineer and business coach in N. Virginia, So. Maryland & Washington, DC.
