When Ferrarini takes the stage, she takes the music, and the crowd, far beyond the usual singer-songwriter experience. Balancing somewhere amongst folk, rock, and the moon her unorthodox and unforgiving guitar playing provides a lush foundation for her captivating originals.

Biography

Mandy Ferrarini is a guitar-riffing songstress who is breaking boundaries for folk rock as we know it. With her unorthodox percussive guitar playing, and pensively honest lyrics, the sky is the limit for this budding new artist. Formerly the front-woman/lead guitarist of various rock/funk/jambands starting at age 16, Ferrarini has honed her excellent guitar skills and morphed strongly into a one-woman music machine. Her high-energy live shows strike a perfect balance of originals and covers, looped with both acoustic and electric guitar playing.

Ferrarini currently gigs with upright-bass player Matt Germansen on occasion. His rhythms and solid bass grooves further unlock Mandy’s creative instinct as the duo cut loose on finger-lickin’ tunes the crowd can’t help but dance to.

In April of 2010, Ferrarini released her debut solo CD, “The Other Side”, and it is already turning heads all over the country. With 9 originally composed songs, and all parts performed and written solely by Ferrarini, “The Other Side” depicts Ferrarini’s ruthless innovation towards creating music. Ferrarini will simultaneously captivate you, inspire you, and rock you.

Lyrics

The Other Side

Written By: Mandy Ferrarini

I’ll take this new beginning
That I made from an end
Seems all that you’re winning
Is a sense of amends
But I see the other side
It’s not quite so black and white
But it keeps me near you
Through the night

Farewell to those winter days
You seemed to hold on for too long
And when the sunshine makes its way
It helps me push on through the song
Chorus

Tick tock runs the clock away
Through darkened decisions I will pay
Left alone to brave the storm
Now your home is tainted more
Though not a cloud in sight

So happy we once were
I see faith in it now
But to carry what we’ve heard
Will take some time to thin out
Chorus

Oh, friend won’t you come to me
Through the fields that you’ve led?
Because what’s left of your company
Is a fear that I dread

That you can’t see the other side
It’s not quite so black and white
But it keeps me near you
Through the night

Heaven

Written By: Mandy Ferrarini

Heaven
They say’s too far away to touch
And when I look to the sky
I figure hell just as much
Because what you can’t see
You oughta
And what you can’t touch
You just wanna

If this greed should lead
To the end of our freedom
Then I’ll pack my bags
And I’ll take your hand
And we’ll walk through the field
Until we think that we have reached

Heaven
They say’s too far away to touch
And when I look in your eyes
I figure hell just as much
Because what you can’t see
You oughta
And what you can’t touch
You just wanna

Driveway Moments

Written By: Mandy Ferrarini

Driveway Moments
If my ship would come
I’d take it all the way home
When it’s all said and done
I’d take it all the way back to you

I have spent too many days
running from this way
When we both feel the same
It’ll all melt away

If the answer comes
As simple as the words that follow
Then these driveway moments
Wouldn’t mean a thing at all

Underneath these stars
How is one supposed to know
That come Sunday morn,
The sun won’t shine at all?

Take it Away

Written By: Mandy Ferrarini

It didn’t take too long
For her to assume he was wrong
It only took one day
And then she took it away
She took it all away

He tried to prove he was right
He lay awake all night
He wrote for hours and hours
Scribbled away all his powers
And then she took it away

Seeming awake to hope
It’s never something I’ve known
See I grew up in a house
Where when a cat caught a mouse
He’d sit down and eat it whole

Your letters can’t contain me
If you’d left with one less word
I’d still feel that cold ocean
And remember why it hurt

If ever there’s a moment of regret
See I haven’t found that yet
Searching the pictures in my mind
I have yet to find
Why not to take it away

Chorus

Thinking how it used to be
Latches away from the tree
I’m lucky enough to see
The joy I’ve found in me
