BandCountryAcoustic

Heartfelt songs with emotional depth and a hint of country from a singer-songwriter with roots in both Oxford, UK and Austin, Texas...I currently live in Radley, just down the road from Steventon really...

Biography

Mandy grew up in Oxford, England but started performing as a singer and guitarist when she worked as a volunteer in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia (hmmm...there's a song in there somewhere...). She spent ten formative years working, playing music and writing songs in Austin, Texas and moved back to the UK in 1999. She is a member of the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters, but loves to perform as much as she loves to craft songs. Very recently, her voice was compared to Joan Armatrading, though her influences are more in the female contemporary country artists field.

Lyrics

One Lover Too Late

Written By: Mandy Woods

I can still see her in your eyes,
No matter how hard you try
To move on and bid the past goodbye,
I can still see her in your eyes.

You know she never thinks of you,
If only for you the same were true,
But there’s not a day goes by you don’t feel blue
Knowing she’ll never again think of you.
Knowing she’ll never again think of you.
When we kissed I thought we had it made
But your feelings for her were soon betrayed
The first night I came to you and stayed
Felt like I was there in someone else’s shade,
Felt like I was there in someone else’s place.

’Cos I can still see her in your eyes,
No matter how hard you try
To move on and bid the past goodbye,
I can still see her in your eyes.

I wonder if there’s anything here for me
That doesn’t make me feel you’d rather be
In the arms of one who treated you so mean
But who you go on loving uncontrollably?
Yes, who you go on loving uncontrollably.
Now you tell me she was your soul mate,
The mirror of you that I can’t replicate,
Life without her you can hardly contemplate
Guess I’ve met you one lover too late,
Guess I’ve met you one lover too late.

’Cos I can still see her in your eyes,
No matter how hard you try
To move on and bid the past goodbye,
I can still see her in your eyes.

I can still see her in your eyes,
No matter how hard you try
To move on and bid the past goodbye,
I can still see her in your eyes.
I can still see her in your eyes.
I can still see her in your eyes, in your eyes.
