Biography

Manefus is an alternative band from Baroda. The band was formed in 2006 and entered the scene riding on well performed covers of Rage against the Machine, Ozzy Osbourne, System of a Down, Audioslave etc. They faced all the charges that a band their age and in their place would. Plagued with line-up changes, social and academic hurdles and a scene that was more of a handicap than a hand-out, that was not to stop them in their tracks. Their growth has been the backbone of their story till date. They were quick to graduate into finding their sound and making original tracks to earn them a lot of titles that came their way in 2008 and 2009. They ripped through the Ahmedabad scene in 2007-08 and won all the major competitions, winning best band, best original, best guitarist, best vocalist in the 'Battle of the Bands' at IIM-A, CEPT, DAIICT, IIT-Gandhinagar and MSU ,Baroda.

They returned in 2008-09 with more original songs and a louder, stronger and more in-your face sound to sweep many of these competitions again, bigger and better. They played at HRC (Hard Rock Cafe, Mumbai), BITS Pilani, IIT-Kanpur, Overture @ NIFT (Opening act for Aurora Jane), IIM Chaos (Opening act for Motherjane), Selected in the top 40 for I-Rock etc. Manefus has become the ultimate live act in the west zone and is now growing more by the day to graduate into the National scene. Their music is a blend of their influences and their individual thought that becomes one in their compositions. The band members are influenced by bands like Led Zep, Rush, Severe, Audioslave, Pearl Jam, Aerosmith, Soundgarden, Tool, Radiohead etc. They play covers of RATM, Audioslave, Pearl Jam, Ozzy and a few others in their set list along with their own works that they have written and composed over the years.
