Bio

The americana pop/rock sound that manford place has come to call its own, comes from the broad spectrum of influences that each of the 5 members brings to the table. From George Strait to Blink 182 and everything in between, each member has its own unique background of musical influences. So the first time they got together, they knew it would be an experimental time period. After afew short weeks of get togethers, they realized that americana pop/rock was the direction they were meant to take, and soon began writing songs together. From their debut show in May, to their most recent shows, they have left their fans wanting more and more each time, with anticipation growing for their debut album, due out in January . Keep a lookout for this up and coming band in an area near you.

The roots of manford place can be traced back to the spring of 2008, when co-founders Matt Sledge and Clellan Cook began playing songs for family and friends and parties and get-togethers. They soon began writing their own original music, and took these songs to the public, playing small venues in and around the San Antonio area. They built a small following and started traveling around the state, opening for the likes of Emory Quinn, Nelo, Midnight River Choir, the Clay Wislon Band, Bobby Duncan, Garrett Heinrichs, among many others. Although they thoroughly enjoyed their time as an acoustic duo, the two yearned for something more.

Fast forward to January 2010, and this is when the manford place that people know today began falling into place. Stephen Goodson, after parting ways with his former band nelo, joined Matt and Clellan to play lead guitar. Brothers Josh and Jon Harter, who grew up playing bass and drums together, joined the band shortly after parting ways with their longtime band, A Kid Named Thompson. manford place continues to grow and mature as a band, and hopes to keep their rapidly growing fan base intrigued, with their energetic live shows, and wide variety of song selection.
