"Sounds of summer"

We caught wind of this Liverpuddlian foursome at a charity event and instantly fell in love with their fresh sound and accomplished musicality. After a year spent tirelessly traversing the gig circuit all over the UK, their debut EP This is what Happens when you Whisper Through a Magaphone is due for release. Expect to hear a mishmash of Incubus, MGMT, The Killers and Muse, tied up with their own, bouncy, boyish charm. - Inside-out Topshop blog

Bio

At once rhythmical, reflective and melodic, Man Get Out burst forwards in many colours. Surprisingly deep and effortless, their sound is electric their lyrics thoughtful. Dance and debate - these five Liverpool musicians make you think and stink.

Ellenberg’s voice is soulful, vengeful, roughly drunk and drunkenly sweet. Clever and witty lyrics, proverbial phrases and punchy declarations of joy stand him apart. Ever present, Lowton plays bass searchingly and brutally, Chris knocks out a rhythm on drums like he’s the lead, then at times retreats to beats that are subtle, sharp and uniform. Owen is ever innovative and instrumental on piano mixing an eclectic mix of effects, which are playful, jazzy and pure music hall. Lars refines the lineup with astute, melodic guitar ingenuity with distinctive vocal harmony.

2011 saw the band achieve their fist national airplay on BBC Radio, championed by Janice Long who invited them to do a live session at her show after seeing them rock the stage at Hoxton Underbelly in June. The band has had high profile support slots throughout the country including Deaf School, Geva Alon and the Wild Swans.

28th January 2012 Man Get Out released their new single 'Berlin' to raptous reception at Liverpool's Mojo sponsored by drinks company Jeremiah Weed.
