"Something different but creative for your ears"

Something different but creative for your ears, introducing to you Mangoseed and their upcoming single Careful.

Mangoseed are a South London-based Ska/Funk/Rock group that deliver energetic live shows and a heavy eclectic sound.

“You take one look at us and expect a reggae band, people don’t expect our songs to have the size and sound or the colours that they do. Come and join the party!” – Nicholai La Barrie.

The diverse sounds within the three piece group is what makes their music so different and unique. At first I was not too sure about their new single, but I LOVED the way they merged a reggae type of feel with a rock/punk feel.

Careful is definitely a track you need to blast from your speakers, we’re supporting this one!

Bio

Mangoseed are a hot South London world fusion band. This four piece band of Trinidadian, Jamaican, Australian and Irish decent formed in 2008 by front man Nicholai La Barrie and guitarist Karlos Coleman.

The band developed organically, from jam sessions to live gigs and gained a reputation for putting on wildly energetic and original shows.

Mangoseed have supported artists including Alabama Three, Grammy Award Winner Micki Free, and Manu Chao.

Whenever possible, Mangoseed show their support at fundraising and charity events: - Music for Children, Sahara Arts Oasis and Oxjam just to mention a few.

With funky guitar riffs, pulsating rock bass and swinging drums, Mangoseed bring forth strong, lyrical and masterful tunes. From the angst-driven punk/funk protest of Standing on a High, to an epic reggae, jungle, break-beat journey of Devil in the Road. Mangoseed’s sound is funky, poetic & infectious.

Their distinctive sound and live shows have earned them a spot supporting Manu Chao, Alabama Three and Grammy Award winner Micki Free.

You take one look at us and expect a reggae band and not for our songs to have the size of the sound or the colours that they do.  We like to party on stage and people just come with us.'

Mangoseed are creating a unique musical global fusion! “, says music journalists Emma Smart. “Their signature is to make songs that you can dance to, but still carry life affirming messages.

Many bands in the past have not been given the chance to have a voice. The only way to hear a band or a musician was to catch them in a local pub and hopefully follow them until a label takes interest.

On this particular evening, Mangoseed began to play a fusion of influences from reggae to rock with funk laden heavy bass in between. Their energy filled the crowd, who moved to the dance floor when hearing the groove in their sound.

Mangoseed are one of the most intriguing bands performing on the day. A trio, they blast an energetic mix that blends rock, reggae and dub, a combination thats in part the power of Bad Brains and in part the soul of Trojan Records reggae.

As soon as these guys came on stage, it went off, this here was a fusion of reggae, funk, rock, metal, it had it all, for the few tracks they played and the amount of people that went to the head of the crowd to get out some dance moves.

Mangoseed will need to be seen.
