Duo Alternative Industrial

"Louder Than War"

Based in California, ManifestiV are no amateurs. Made up of Taylor on guitars and programming, and EvE on a shredded and rebuilt vibraphone, the pair have made an album which is both hard-hitting and addictive.

Opener, the ironically named Pop could well be the soundtrack to a movie. It’s epic and rough, yet still has enough rounded edges to see it become widely acceptable. It’s also an interesting start to the ten tracks – an instrumental acting almost as a prelude to the remaining collection.

Taylor and EvE took their time forming the band, originally meeting at a Dallas mortuary school in 2011, it was 2014 before they formed the musical venture. To describe their sound isn’t easy. It’s experimental for sure, with industrial Goth overtones and they probably wouldn’t object to any Nine Inch Nails comparisons, but in essence they seem to have created a niche sound.

Literally translated as ‘one you are happy’, Einer Sie Gern weaves itself through haunting melodies and effects taking in some epic sounding percussion and guitars along the way. Snow, for instance is almost nursery rhyme sounding with its soft repetitive hook and Damage too is addictive in an almost musical box sort of way.

Rid Of Me rocks up things wonderfully, guitars rip and synths screech and accompany amply. Yet again, ManifestiV piece together a track which is not only powerful and anarchic but also blends in enough pop sensibility to make them appealing. Think maybe along the lines of Sisters Of Mercy and you get the idea of where their audience could well lie.

Some burbling, bubbling effects underpin an almost horror sounding Screams before a rawer Can’t Stop provides one of the many album highlights with the link between alternative and commercial making a very satisfactory meeting point.

I Can’t See You sees the digital version of the album end on a sombre note and one which leaves the listener wanting more. The track meanders and wanders effortlessly over an industrial ambient soundscape which lends itself as much to originality as it does to bravado.

The Nine Inch Nails connections continue on the cd bonus track, a version of How To Destroy Angels’ Ice Age originally recorded by Trent Reznor and wife Mariqueen Maandig. - Paul Scott-Bates

"Rooftop Playlist"

ManifestiV undoubtedly feeds off each other’s artistic talents. What caught my attention were the subtle movements EvE does in between and during her harmonies, using her instrument as a canvas for so much more than a soundscape. To her left in sync, Taylor magnetizes the set with his body, vocals, and piercing guitar. - Jessica Navarro

"Whiskey Boy Radio"

This is what music is gonna be in a post-apocalyptic world... I would call it experimental, but I would say these guys don't act like they're experimenting with anything. They've got it down to a science. - Matthew Blake

"on Einer Sie Gern"

If a heart can be naked and survive, this is the sound it would make. - TJ Walkup (Omnific Pictures, Mocktoberfest, MTV, Universal Studios)

"Halfway Serious"

Heavy distorted guitars chugging under the unique sound of a vibraphone with the electric undercurrent works so well, and every sound is crisp & focused, that it’s easy to get pulled into their mysterious world. - Rob Bozzoli

Experimental industrial duo ManifestiV consist of ¶ Taylor's downtuned guitar versus EvE's self-made electronic vibraphone. Before forming in Vallejo CA just north of San Francisco in January 2014, the two had met in 2011 attending mortuary school in Dallas. Late 2013, ¶ brought the bones of what became debut Einer Sie Gern to EvE from Dallas to Vallejo for inspiration to kickstart her next art gallery, eventually becoming the album's artwork. "After spending 15 years Texan bands, I wanted to make a different type of band to keep the universal relativity of these songs very close to the heart & intriguing. Little did I know for the years I'd known her, EvE already mastered an instrument [vibraphone] she'd never bust out at previous bands' practices," ¶ reminisces. Not having a vibraphone, EvE compressed her pre-mortuary engineering gumption from her US Naval work on F-18 jets to a simpler more connective purpose: building electric vibes.  No mics, resonators, dampeners or motors giving the instrument its traditional sound: only pickups making it as adaptable as a guitar's or synth's.

Once fully constructed & dubbed "Silba" after the aluminum keys which survived a trailer crash on their previous marching band vibraphone, the ManifestiV show debuted at SXSW 2014 in Austin. Upon returning to California to hash out the record, the band graced the legendary Viper Room stage with Society 1 in Hollywood before focusing on the industrial scene of the San Francisco Bay Area.  After playing out all year in the midst of recording, Einer Sie Gern released on 12/13/14 live at Slim's & online worldwide.

With videos for "Rid of Me" and "Stranger" resulting from collaborations with Dallas-based indie film production house Little Spark FilmsEiner Sie Gern narrates a story of heart-break from individual & group bonds resulting in greater inner-strength & protection.  After its release, ManifestiV begun 2015 with a couple months in Southeast Asia perusing Thailand & Cambodia while promoting the record's release by preparing to tour the US perpetually for the year's remainder.  While on their 2nd 2015 outing for its summer's Glacier Tour redefining how life & tour can co-mingle, spending a week in each destination, they collected concepts & direction for the follow-up while spreading their message & sound amidst North America.

The duo devoted 2016 to beginning their 2nd record back in Dallas before their Pacifica Tour took them to the Pacific Northwest through Yellowstone to their debut at Burning Man. After spending Election Day flying thru China to Thailand to mourn the loss of their King Rama IX while traveling the country & plotting final writing stages in hostels across the countryside, ManifestiV returned to the US with close to 50 songs to comb thru for debut album followups. 2017 saw conceptual completions in Costa Rica & Nicaragua and initial tracking at Prairie Sun in Cotati, CA. After a meticulous Dallas winter at 2018's dawn, tracking completed with Nate Nauseda amidst the duo's 7 leg OctouR spanning the western US & Europe:
