Bio

Having the vocation to sing since I was a small child, music has been the mast that allows my vessel to sail. growing up in southern rural Ontario close to the shores of Georgian bay, and having spent a most adventurous half of a young mans life, very much 'into the wild', having been deep into the Canadian wilderness, and having crossed the vast country over 20 times by thumb, plane, car, or bus; penetrating the rockies veneer, as a mountaineer, and scratching momma's back working resources jobs such as treeplanting, commercial fishing, or guiding rivers and mountain passes.. One might wonder how this all equates to a musical resume. Well even though it does not read like an acollage of award winning writings, the vantage of light and shadow that I have been exposed to, having survived many a moment where I could have easily not, has blown the cover off my journal. The wealth of inspiration and awe that resides in me now, is set to unravel into venues, and into the ears of those that will listen. To those who have come of age via the trans-canadian road trip, or who have spent to much time in the cold to come back inside will most certainly Identify from the inside out, what they hear from the Mani Wali song list.
At the age of 15 I played in a punkrock band called Zero in small town Ontario, and moved on to a folk duet. Upon hitting the road, my writing went solo. In 1999 I was rehearsing on the streets of Canmore and Banff AB as MANWE. The local response was warm indeed, though an unreadiness to commit had me hiding in the hills with the herds for another near decade. In 2007, The time to settle in and hone the sets had come. The new wave in my life had come to surface. I felt the mountain shadow within me, ready to call upon the sun. I held a couple of 'wake up' shows in early 2008, with a positive response. my small family and I felt this worthy of investment, and in staying true to our philosophy of being, we took on five acres of escarpment on the bruce peninsula Georgian bay Ontario. positioned in my place of power, being outside, I am ready to pounce Toronto and surrounding area, to build up some steam. TransCanada Hwy, here comes the gallop of a backwoods whisper with the will of a mountain to be heard. Be it an old familiar face to your pavement.
