Bio

We are Manorwood, a 5 piece pop punk band born in modestly sized Waterloo, Ontario. Playing drums is the very driven Greg Chevreau, driving the bass is a new member, Zach Peats-Bond formerly of Never Say Nevada, on lead guitar there is Jefferson Wood dazzling the crowd with his lightening fingers, pumping the rhythm guitar is Dylan Koopman, and marveling the crowd is Jeff Macdonald singing/playing the occasional keys.

Manorwood came to be in the same way that a lot of bands do; one simple jam session. Upon returning from his Ukrainian adventure in January of 2009, then bassist Stevie Cook called up his old friend Greg Chevreau who he had played in bands with for numerous years previous to have a jam session and explores some sounds. Greg knew Dylan and Jefferson from high school and invited them to come along. It was apparent from the beginning that choosing a genre to focus their energy on would be very difficult, for that day they jammed pretty much every different one. They came to the conclusion at the end that they simply would decide what to focus on but simply just to continue jamming. Following about a week’s time they had practiced several times and what they were creating seemed to be unclassifiable but following old time friend and singer, Jeff Macdonald’s introduction to the group it was apparent that they would set on their common ground; Pop punk. 9 months later they had 5 songs done and continued to practice and on December 23rd made the trek to Toronto suburb Aurora to begin pre production with Derek Hoffman of Brighter Brightest. Following about one month of recording, a location change to Derek’s main headquarters on Shuter Street in Downtown Toronto, all five songs had been tracked and waited mixing. When all of the songs were done mixing and ready to be sold it was decided by the band to wait for a little more demand for the EP they had put so much hard work into and on May 31st they decided that they had waited long enough and released the five songs on iTunes under the title “Far Away From Here”, now they band is playing as many shows as possible and promoting their EP to the best of their abilities.
