Bio
Manuela Rodrigues is a singer and composer from Bahia- Brazil. Her versatility and unique voice have brought her awards and two recorded CDs, a harmonic construction of compositions that have as a specific feature breaking the formal structure verse-chorus.
At 21, she graduated in Lyric Singing and after she got a scholarship to study music at UNO: University of New Orleans, in the USA. Back to Brazil, she started exercising musical experimentation, which would guide her authoring work. As a consequence, she got to do shows that would bring her more visibility, and also awards in various contests and music festivals. The first one was the Braskem Award of Culture and Ar, in 2003, which provided her the recording of her first CD, entitled Rotas.
Em 2011, she launched her second album, UMA OUTRA QUALQUER POR AI and features a song that brings a brand to connect with the contemporary. The album was named best album of 2011 by Portuguese Frenchsite Tropicalia and MPB in the top 100 this year in The Journal “0 EMBRULHADOR”.
