Bio
Manuel Rodriguez is a genuine and exciting colombian rock artist that’s being considered as one of the pioneers of the “Indie, DIY (Do-It-Yourself)” movement that’s arising in his country. His unique and modern version of an 80’s oriented rock, is gathering up a new generation of fans for this genre. "Stay", the first single of his long awaited debut album "Life • Social • Love", was described as, “very catchy, hooky and radio friendly” by Mike Couzzi and was incredibly supported by fans, in it’s One-Day Facebook Preview Exclusive.
Manuel is low-key and modest about his playing, but the media and other industry people have more enthusiastic views. His guitar skills were described as, “most rawkin'... your picking chops rule!” according to Dale Turner (West Coast Editor of Guitar One) and his musical sensibility and profound lyrics are better described by producer/engineer Alejandro Oviedo (The Hall Effect, The Mills) with his kind words, "the guy is a genius... has a unique mind for music and for me, he’s definitely one of the top artist I’ve worked with, not just for his obvious ability with the instrument, but mostly, for his sensibility and open mind... that’s his biggest asset”.
“Life • Social • Love is an album loaded with screaming guitars, bad ass riffs and passionate lyrics” says Manuel, who also affirms that, “this album, does not only entertains, but also shows realities like poverty and discrimination, to which sometimes we are indifferent”. All of this, plus an extensive online campaign and direct-to-fan marketing approach, makes the debut album of this colombian artist, an incredibly personal, interesting and “to-watch-for” release. As Lee Levin said, “It was a pleasure to play on Manuel's project... I had not heard of him before, but after hearing him as an artist and guitar player, I'm sure I will hear of him again!”.
