Maple

Formed in the year 2000, Maple sought to delve back in time to rediscover the tenets of classic rock and bring them back to the future. They played eight years of shows in and around Washington DC, and realized that everybody was already listening to classic rock and punk. Furthermore, they realized that what was on MTV and local rock radio really didn't matter or need to be superseded in the first place, because no one was listening to it. Having realized that there was no grand revolution to be had, the band just decided that they were just going to have fun and rock out. Now they bring the revolution by evolution.
The Maple sound is a bit like hearing Queens of the Stone Age in a knife fight with Dinosaur Jr (alot of indie rock and heavy rock influences smashing together). But, with influences such as Blur, Weezer, and Mission of Burma, they have captured the hearts of the common rocker folk, making them very popular at parties ("aww man, I loved it when you played that song from the blue album, man!").
They have played many venues in Washington, DC and the surrounding area (such as Jammin' Java, DC9, The Red and the Black, The Rock and Roll Hotel, The Velvet Lounge, Galaxy Hut, and T.T. Reynolds). Their many years together as a band have refined their ensemble and proved their original material with a diverse set of audiences. They've also played innumerable house parties, gone to Philadelphia, Lexington, played local festivals, and been featured several times on the George Mason University's radio program, Locals Only Radio.
In late 2006, Maple produced a professionally recorded full-length album: maple} . 13 tracks of classic rock sounds. Ranging from the country swing rock of "Memphis", to the back and forth reggae-punk of "Our Last Goodbye", the album is eclectic and tuneful.
