Made A Promise 2008, produced by John Rigby

Javor Škerlj Vogelnik, known as Maple, is a young Slovene artist
with a courageous vision. In 2008 he went to London with the
intention of meeting musicians and producers. 6 months spent in
London brought new friends and acquaintances. Among others he
met a producer and bassist John Rigby, who liked Maple’s demo
tracks and helped him to realize his dreams. This collaboration
created Maple’s first bigger music project and in October 2009 he
finished with recording. Maple’s debut album was released a year
after, in 2010.
Studio album ‘Made A Promise’ contains 10 tracks, one in Slovene
language, others in English, and it’s a mixture of britpop, indie and
electro music. Digitalized vocal, electro tune, profound lyrics and a
bit of experimentation brought a fresh breeze to Slovene music

Beside music Maple has another passion – surfing. Hot sun, big
waves and freedom of thought are his inspiration. While travelling
Maple realized, that world has many things to offer, so he created
The Maple Organization to support the vision explained through his
music. Maple showed his attitude towards the planet in a sentence:
“In the world there’s a lot more than just what we see with our eyes,
hear with ears and feel with our fingers.”

Following the London model Maple started a Slovene series of
concerts named ‘Open microphone’. Unplugged performances in
various clubs around the country gather music fans and give them
an option to hear something, new and different. On the other hand
‘Open microphone’ is a great option for new, young artist to perform
and introduce their work to public.

Maple’s plans for spring and summer 2011 are album
promotion and touring on European festivals. (TU)
