"This is swooning music for the big hearted, a soundtrack for watching the streetlights go on at dusk…. Major labels get your chequebooks ready. No kidding." Zulu Records

- Discorder

"gentle, catchy pop songs that bring to mind the Sundays, Mazzy Star, and Smog." Matt Nichols, KEXP (Seattle)
- KEXP

"Maplewood lane’s pastoral, english influenced pop is transcendent enough that, for 15 glorious minutes, I’m rolling along back roads in the Yorkshire country-side instead of standing shoehorned into the Rail-way Club. ...the quintet’s bucolic brand of U.K.-style folk-pop makes you wish every day was Sunday, and spring lasted 12 months out of the year..."
Mike Usinger, Georgia Straight - Georgia Straight

Bio

Maplewood Lane is a five-piece band from the Vancouver area, who have been playing together since 1998. They began as three friends putting their music together in a basement studio on the Sunshine Coast. Since then they have evolved as a band, releasing two EPs, and 2 full length albums. From their beginnings, maplewood lane have played shows ranging from local concerts to music festivals such as New Music West (Vancouver), NXNE (Toronto), and Woodsong (with Victoria Williams, Marc Olsen... on Orcas Island, Washington). They are currently being played on college radio across Canada, and have also been played in Seattle, Spokane and Bellingham. As well, the recent Atom Egoyan movie "Sabah" featured their song, 'The colour and the gold'.

Maplewood Lane's newest EP, "The Golden Skies", was recorded with producer Jon Anderson (Radiogram, Jonathan Inc.) on Anniedale records. Released with much critical acclaim, the new EP sees Maplewood Lane exploring their dream-pop sensibilities, while retaining their unique sound.

Fronted by Rebecca Rowan, Maplewood Lane's resulting sound is hauntingly ethereal, with thought-provoking lyrics that connect with everyday life. Their music wiill appeal to fans of the Sundays and the Cardigans.
