Marathon is a four-piece alternative rock band from the southeast of England. Formed in 2004 by guitarists Jack Sutton and Mike Gibson and performing early gigs under the name InMotion, the band quickly exhausted the local circuit and began to look for opportunities further afield from their neighboring towns.
Gaining recognition following a string of well received performances, the band moved into the studio to provide hard copies of some of their early material.
As the band matured both in sound and scope, the gigging schedule became ever more frequent. A number of self produced EPs down the line and with a timely name change, Marathon returned with their debut digital platform release ‘300 Miles’.
The last 6 months have been spent heavily self-promoting and establishing a foothold on the University and city venue circuit. Having gained interest from a number of promoters, the band are now working with management company ‘Shameless Talent’ based in the Southeast and have been showcased through ‘Northern Cats’ in Manchester and the Northwest.
