Bio

Artist Bio:

Originally from the Acadian region of Saint Mary’s Bay, Nova Scotia, Marc LeBlanc (Marc à Paul à Jos) first got the idea in 2013 to write music in the unique Acadian dialect of his home town.  Being inspired by nostalgia of his home land, Marc started writing songs telling true stories of real people he knew personally throughout his youth.

His first album, “Le temps des canichules”, was released in December, 2013 which caught the ear of many and encouraged him to write more music.  Marc has now released three albums with a total of 49 songs.  Marc plays all the instruments and sings all the vocals on his albums, except for a duet on his latest release which features his wife on vocals as well.  Marc is driven to preserve stories of events and people he has known throughout his life.  He has also gone to great lengths to adhere to his native Acadian dialect in his songs and to use words and expressions which are sadly disappearing from the vocabulary of the youth who currently live in his home Acadian region.

Marc has been called an ambassador to Acadian Culture by many of his listeners and media outlets in Atlantic Canada.  His music has struck a chord with many outside his home town, his home province, and even his home country.  His listeners come from all walks of life; men and women ranging from age 6 to 90, Acadians from various regions, non-Acadian Francophones and even some non-Francophones.

Marc has had the opportunity to present his songs in his live shows accompanied by two seasoned musicians on bass and guitar.  Most notably, he performed in the festival Acadie Rock in Moncton, New-Brunswick, Festival Acadien de Caraquet and Festival Acadien de Clare which were all very well received.  Marc à Paul à Jos strives to share his Acadian heritage through his music.  He plans on bringing you more of his unique style of music via his albums and live shows.

Marc à Paul à Jos is very interested in playing more live shows with his band and invites anyone who may be interested to contact him.
