Feeling a bit camera shy

Voted Milwaukee's best Acoustic performer in 2006* Marc Ballini is one of the most exciting young talents to have emerged in recent years.
By the age of 24 he has appeared on stage with the likes of B.B. King and won a natioinal songwriting competition in 2006. A proficient guitarist and pianist, Ballini has filled over 6 LP's with an eclectic array of original songs – each topped with his commanding yet emotive voice.

Ballini comes from a long line of musicians. His great grandmother sang at La Scala, the Milan opera house, his grandmother was a ragtime pianist, and his brother Chris Ballini is an accomplished producer/musician widely known for his work with Aaron Lewis of Staind. It was his father, though, who inspired Ballini and introduced him to artists such as Sly Stone, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Earth, Wind and Fire, and the Eagles. Ballini took up piano by age three, drums at eight, guitar at sixteen, and along the way developed his distinct and powerful voice.

Ballini has found immediate success as a solo act since he hit the scene in 2000. Without an agent, he booked 20-25 shows each month, and sold his self-recorded CDs. Ballini's popularity grew and in October
'06 opened a four-night run in Nashville & Memphis for B.B. King. In February'07, Ballini found the perfect combination of talent and personality in three of Milwaukee's premier musicians and thus, began a monster collaboration to create a fresh new sound. Kris Crow (Hammond B3, Fender Rhodes) and Matt Turner (bass) spent years performing together in the Milwaukee based band, The Westfall, and Wes Block (drums) brings over 12 years of drumming experience and a rare versatility to the group. Already on the brink of national recognition, with this new group Marc Ballini is sure perform on bigger stages and fill larger venues in the upcoming year.
