Marcel Luntungan

Marcel Luntungan started playing the guitar at the age of 14. Growing up with 12 brothers & sisters music was always the binding element. With the profits of delivering the morning he bought his first record: de soundtrack van Saturday Night Fever of the Bee Gees. He also listened to Gino Vannelli and instrumental Fusion and JazzRock. While delivering newspapers he softly sang songs of James Taylor, Stephen Bishop en Kenny Loggins.

With his brothers and two sisters and Adrew Flament he started Different Cake and it was in this cover-schoolband he started writing songs. The band was famous in his region and there were a couple of changes in the band and a name change.
The band continued as drummer Jeroen Molenaar and bassguitar player Rob Hendriks joined a Piece of Cake. Marcel was always lacking self confidence. Sitting and waiting for good things to happen.
The band broke up. Marcel, Martin and Jerry went on and performed as a acoustic trio. This was the time that the vocals got the attention. It was a great time, but even here, Marcel was led by insecurity. Then Martin got ill and had great difficulty in picking up his life again. He's been recovering since then.
When Jerry got a mental disease around 1999 his abillity to perform got worse and worse. Next to that and more important, he lost his grip on life itself and 2 weeks before he would have reached the age of 45, he committed suicide on Christmas Eve 2004.
Meeting these events in life, Marcel experienced his way of living was not paying off with the results he had wished. With two young kids his relation was heading for disaster. He and his wife were living next to eachother, but without real togetherness, passion and love. In his work at an office from 9 to 5 he was mediocrate and tensed. On the age of 42, Marcel took a good look in the mirror and decided to do something about it. He signed up to take a personal training at the Essence Trainingen organisation in Amsterdam and actually refound himself. He did some more trainings and in the beginning of 2007 he decided to go for his best. He picked up his life and his guitar and chose to be himself, to accept himself and to set some targets. Now, Marcel is performing as a Singer Songwriter, finding his way through life. Setting ambitious goals, he takes the opportunity to see possibillities on his way. Full self-expression, coörporation, love and togetherness are his markers. Ever learning, ever growing Marcel is on his way with performances, a website (At last!), music, a goal and a story to tell.
