Moe's Buda Bar in Agora Hills, Ca had a surprise guest sit in with local rockers, "The LoveJoy's". Ventura County's own Marc Eric made a guest appearance and electrified the Buda Bar crowd with such crowd favirotes as "Hey Joe" and "Magic Carpet Ride". Marc Eric. The stage went dark, dim lights came up as an eriee sound filled the theatre, It was then over lapped with guitar fade-ins, reminiscent of Pink Floyd... Couldn't see who was playing, then Marc Eric came slowly strolling out... Very cool... As the intro climaxed, they suddenly broke into
their first number, a Zeppelinish tune with driving guitar... Very catchy song..
Marc's vocals had a unique character to them, which fit like a glove with the
sound. Then, with an arena-schooled pace, they went right into "Hey Joe"...
nice! This song is were Marc's guitar playing ability was brought forth. His style was very unique. He really made the song his own, tapping harmonics
in the melody in one part. Nice trick at the end which appeared to be some
kind of looping pedal that kept playing while he switched guitars. The next
song which was another original was unbelievable!.. it definitely capitvated
the crowd! I. The song after that was also very powerful and hit-song oriented...
I was told that it is the title track for Micheal Imperioli's new movie called "Stuey"
(not yet released). They ended with a instrumental hurricane! some very smokin
guitar playing! Near the end, the drummer thew Marc his Drum stick and he began
playing his guitar with it, tapping hammer-ons at the speed of light, then going into
a funky/rythmic pattern with the drummer.... never seen that before... The crowd loved
it! This band really put on a big-league show, and i look forward to seeing them again.


Savoy Brown came out and sounded great! but a bit less exciting in contrast, but hey,
they are a ledgendary band dating back to the sixties. Kim Simmons guitar playing ,
was great! more of the old school Claptonish sound. They played for about an hour,
then took a break for about 1/2 hour. Kim Simmons came back out, sitting
on a chair, playing some of his acoustic numbers, then was later re-joined by his
band mates. They put on a great show, playing through their large catalogue of
songs... It was a good evening.
