I first heard the songs from Gutshot Straight when watching the movie "High Roller". I knew right away that I was hearing some great music. I actually thought that perhaps I was hearing some U2 songs from a new album or something, but it was Marc Eric singing, not Bono!
By coincidence I received the Gutshot Straight album on the same day that I got the new U2 album "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb". So I loaded both of them into my iTunes playlist and listened to them back to back a couple of times while working on a project in my office.
I was really surprised that I liked the album "Gutshot Straight" way more than I liked the U2 album! Here was a completely unknown singer and band, and they blew away the U2 album, and U2 happens to be one of my favorite bands! Since then I have listed to "Gutshot Straight" many times and it has only gotten better each time I listen to it.

I discovered Marc's music (like most everyone else) in the Stu Ungar story/High Roller movie. At first listen, you'll hear the masters: Stevie Ray, Jimi as well as acoustic Page. The overall production is very warm, not eq'd to death. The more you listen though, the more you'll hear a very unique voice & style that comes through. Over the past 15 years Marc Eric’s extraordinary talent has put him both on stage and in the studio with some of the world’s most recognizable artists, including Slash, Vivian Campbell, Bruce Kulick, Graham Bonnet, among many others. His unique and innovative guitar style has earned him praise from some of the world’s most legendary musicians, such as Billy Cox (of Jimi Hendrix’s fame) who describes Marc as “one hell of a guitar player”.
In 2005 Marc released, “Gutshot Straight”, a CD which would eventually have 4 of the 12 tracks selected and included in the New Line Cinema feature film, “Highroller”, starring Michael Imperioli. Based on the independent success of “Gutshot Straight”, New Line Cinema elected to include the music video for Marc’s song, “Yesterdays” (featured in its entirety during the film) as a bonus feature on the DVD home video release.
Marc’s latest CD project, Roads Less Traveled, is scheduled for release in the spring of 2011. In support of the album, Marc has been selected as the feature artist for George L Cables, and will appear in numerous guitar magazines worldwide. The ad is slated to run in the 2011 Winter NAMM editions of Music Connection, Guitar Player, Guitar World, Premiere Guitar, in addition to several others, over the first few months of 2011.
Marc continues to play live, either headlining one of Nashville’s many live music venues, or just sitting in as a special guest along-side such notable names as Kenny Olson (Kid Rock) and Peter Keys (Lynyrd Skynyrd). As a singer/songwriter and producer, Marc has more than 100 of his own original songs available for TV and film licensing, while he continues to produce many other well known artist and bands at his studio in Nashville Tenn. Marc recently produced the first of several original country songs, written and performed by television and film actor, Jeremy London (Party of 5 and 7th Heaven), with whom he continues to collaborate.
