Marc Ford & the Neptune Blues Club

The Neptune Blues Club are a high-octane blues band, a contagious dance band & a profound psychedelic experience. This house of bad influences was built in Long Beach by tone guru Marc Ford and groove master Anthony Arvizu. Constructed on a solid foundation of LA roots royalty; Stephen Hodges on percussion, John Bazz on bass, and Arvizu on the skins. The harmonic architecture provided compliments of Mike Malone's greasy B3 & piano. The heavy and less than angelic vocals are supplied by Marc and Mike. They both share the solos with the ill mannered harmonica of Bill Barrett.

Marc Ford the club's guitarist, singer & MD has a resume longer than Bill's rap sheet. He's was the lead guitar with the Black Crowes, & has brought his signature sonic mayhem to folks like Gov't Mule, Ben Harper & the Blind Boys Of Alabama to name-drop a few. While I'm at it...

Stephen Hodges has also performed & recorded with too many people to mention here and not just be braggin... From Tom Waits, and David Lynch to Gatemouth Brown, Smashing Pumpkins & Phillip Glass.

John Bazz has played with Hubert Sumlin, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Bruce Willis, Top Jimmy, Lester Butler, & Lee Allen among others. He also currently plays in the Blasters, a band he co-founded in 1979.

Anthony Arvizu Formerly of National Peoples Gang & Bourbon Jones has been in the trenches in LA laying down ferocious shuffles and second line horrification for the past twenty years.

Mike Malone has been the pianist with many a blues icon including Big Joe Turner, Mick Taylor and Joe Houston. The latter he toured with for a dozen years or so. Mike currently leads his own rock in band The Soul Collectors.

Bill Barrett has been dispensing his sinister brand of harmonica with a wide range of sonic luminaries from Nels Cline & Greg Ginn to the L.A. Philharmonic. He's also currently holds down the harp chair in Hazmat Modine.

The kaleidoscopic collection of influences creates a sum greater than its parts, perhaps greater than the national debt. The Neptune Blues Club's charter is clear "dance" as founding elder Bernard Steelflex once said; make them writhe with abandon"
