A sought-after session musician in Europe and Australia, Marc recently recorded his first jazz album under his own name. The album, titled The Interview, was recorded in New York with acclaimed drummer Mike Clark (Herbie Hancock and the Head Hunters etc), Charles Fambrough (Art Blakey, McCoy Tyner etc) and Eric Udel (The Blues Brothers, Ray Charles etc) on bass. Marc recently headlined with Mike’s legendary band, The Headhunters on a tour through Australia in October 2008.
Marc has impressive technique but more importantly plays with soul. Marc paid his dues playing around
Sydney before heading off to Europe to write and perform with artists as diverse as Standing On Shoulders and The Miller Big Band and has produced music in various genres for film and television for companies in the US, Ireland, Australia and France
Some of his successes include his role as co-writer and guitarist for original alternate pop band, Standing on Shoulders (formerly Skinful (www.skinful.com.au) (www.myspace.com/skinful) Marc co-wrote the Irish Top 40 charting hit Finding Myself and has received airplay in Ireland, Finland, Germany and Television airplay in Australia.
Marc’s playing style draws from artists such as John Scofield, Wayne Krantz and Jim Hall, but finds his place as a unique artist with his almost story telling approach.
