Their first album was launched and presented in Portugal in the year 2009 and bears the title "Tu Aroma, Tu Sabor". The author took charge of the whole composition, production, arrangements, musical and artistic direction, and editing. New themes, some of which have already been played live, are already being studied and prepared for the next recording.
"BUSALIK" is the title envisaged for the next record. It concerns the artistic representation of a spiritual travel connected with the musical maturity that has been developing in the last few years. While seeking originality and attempting to reach the vanguard of contemporary music, it is a work that hands back and renews Flamenco, Portuguese Traditional Music, Jazz, "World Music", Fado, Bossa Nova, Classical Music, Alternative Music, ... in a personalized and human world.

Marco Alonso is a musician, guitarist and composer with a very personal style in Modern Flamenco with Jazz influences and new sounds in the context of "World Music". A contemporary fusion which simply defines and develops artistic quality in the innovation of composition, arrangements, interpretation, virtuosity and live performance.
As far as the instrumental music goes, the originality of the approach to the guitar is obvious. There is an evolution and consolidation of this artist's musical personality arising from his training and study under the guidance of great masters, such as: Nilton Esteves, Fernando Neves, Jorge Chainho, the great MAESTRO DE LA GUITARRA FLAMENCA Manolo Sanlúcar, José Antonio Rodriguez, Manolo Franco and Paco Serrano.
The Marco Alonso Group includes, besides Marco Alonso on the flamenco guitar, Helder Pereira on the electro-acoustic/synthesizer, lute and harmonica, Chico Santos on the electric bass, João Branco on percussion, and Lúcia Mourinho's voice and dancing. Beyond the artistic quality, the group's live performances are characterised by the musicians' mutual understanding which easily extends to the public sharing the heterogeneous atmospheres created by the interpretations and styles of the various musical themes. Moments of tension and expectation flavoured with melodious and spiritual subtlety, as well as innovating harmonic developments, a strong element of improvisation and virtuosity and a rhythmic and dynamic quality, reveal all the authenticity and ingeniousness of the Marco Alonso project.
Worth mentioning is the group's presence at the 2010 Lisbon International Flamenco Festival, in which it shared the stage of Teatro Nacional S. Carlos with such great artists as Enrique Morente, Cañizares, Miguel de Tena and the Vargas Family. A magic moment highly praised in the various reviews. Marco Alonso also participated in the 2011 Lisbon Flamenco Festival at the Coliseu dos Recreios, as ballerina Alejandra Gutkin's special guest. Equally worth mentioning is Alonso's presence at the Lisbon Teatro Tivoli, in association with the National Company of Flamenco Dancing.
