Marco André

Natural from Belém of Pará, Capital of the Northern State of Pará, Brazil, the singer, composer, arranger, instrumentalist and cd producer always walked through a professional path, coherent with his academic background, committed with the quality of the music that he produces. After countless presentations on stages of the city, he moved to Rio de Janeiro, in 1985.

Olhar e Segredo
His first work recognized nationwide was the recording of the song “My Good, my Badly”, the thrashes sound of Net Globo's homonymous soap opera, in 1990, which was part of his first LP, “Olhar e Segredo” - Warner Continental.

Marco André’s Collection
In 2002, Marco released his second album, 'Marco André 20 anos', a collection of independent music most important to your career so far, especially those who have made successes in the North of Brazil. The CD includes songs like Terra à Vista, with which Marco was featured on the Brazilian Music Festival sponsored by Rede Globo in 2000, Olhar Cigano, success in their homeland and Olhar Pirata, the first music artist to become popular in Belém.

Carnival
Marco André's Curriculum includes the participation in the Rio de Janeiro Carnival of 2004, when, invited by Dominguinhos do Estácio, he sang the samba theme of the Unidos do Viradouro, in honor to Candle of Our Lady of Nazaré (the Candle of Our Lady of Nazareth.) in the Famous Marques of Sapucai Sambódromo.

In the same year, he was chosen the best regional pop singer in the first Prêmio Cultura de Música, from the Culture TV and Radio Station of Pará, main phonographic award for the northern region of the country.
Still in 2004, he launched his third CD, Amazônia Groove.
The disk gave Marco André a start on an international career.
The songs “Varrido de Amor” and “Função das Coisas” entered in 3 collections of Brazilian music distributed in Japan.
The songs “Vinheta do Mestre Verequete” and “Caringlobalizado” became part of a Collection of Tom Jobim songs called TOM do Amazônia, produced by the Fundação Roberto Marinho and distributed in the whole world.

Amazônia Groove was considered by FROOTS Magazine, the main magazine of World Music of Europe, by, the musical critic Marcos Sacchi, among the 10 (ten) better disks of 2005 when of the publication of its 25th birthday.
The CD stands out in the programming of Worldmix I Radio of New York, being always in the first places in the preference of the listeners during several months.
The famous Radio Broadcaster of Seattle, Derek Mazzone, of the KXPM Radio, also placed the CD among the 10 better of 2005, as one of his indications for the month of May.
It was also one of the works recommended in a Japanese site specialized in Brazilian music.

Marco André has songs in important international collections, in countries such as Portugal, Japan, England and Italy.

Marco was always inside the studios, one of his passions. Thanks to it, he assumed the production of several projects, always working as arranger and guitarist, having the opportunity to live together with the country’s best musicians, great interpreters and composers.
Paulinho da Viola, Elba Ramalho, Jane Duboc, Altamiro Carrilho, Célia, Zé Luiz Mazziotti, Dominguinhos, Dominguinhos do Estácio, Humberto Araújo, Neguinho da Beija-Flor, Verônica Sabino, Sebastião Tapajós, Robertinho Silva, Gilson Peranzzetta, Sacha Amback, Flávio Venturini, Leo Gandelman, Zé Renato, Nelson Gonçalves, Paulinho Moska, Chico César, Nilson Chaves, Vital Lima, Arismar do the Espírito Santo, Mauricio Einrorn, Cláudio Nucci, Leila Pinheiro, are some of the stars that brought important apprenticeship for his career, participating on his works.
As musician he performed in CD´s of Beth Carvalho, Escolas de Samba do Rio de Janeiro, Cláudio Nucci, Celso Viáfora, Jane Duboc, Sebastião Tapajós and of several independent artists.

He already shared the stage making shows through Brazil with Zizi Possi and Vitor Ramil (I Pixinguinha Project - local artist), Leila Pinheiro (I National Pixinguinha Project), Wagner Tiso (I National Pixinguinha Project), Orchestra of Brazilian Music (I Pixingão Project, room FUNART - RJ), Cláudio Nucci, Fafá de Belém, Jane Duboc, Paula Lima, Nilson Chaves, Flávio Venturini, Martinália, Vital Lima, Sandra de Sá, Sebastião Tapajós, Dominguinhos do Estácio and Dona Ivone Lara.

He has songs recorded by consecrated names of our MPB. Among them, we highlighted Jane Duboc, Leila Pinheiro, Paulo César Feital, Fátima Guedes, Group Exalta Samba, MPB–4, Gaby Amarantos, Dona Onete, Dominguinhos do Estácio and Vital Lima.

Today Marco divides himself between the artist that travels showing its art for the whole country and the producer highlighted by the specialized press.
