Authentic music born by a mix of jazz, rock, bossa and funk. Real texts that speak of fairy tales, dreams and desires.
No, these five boys not joking at all. Sometimes they smile and their songs are smiling, perhaps they dance and their rhythms are dancing, but their music is not a game.
The union of five elements, five passions, five minds, five stories and ten eyes.
Eyes that don’t merely look, but paradoxically hear and tell truth so embarrassing to make smile, reflect. Their songs are so real stories of being considered unlikely, so close to want away. It tells of the past that speaks of this. So this to distract us from everything, even from ourselves up to make us lose the essence of things or of small signs.
In 2002 is born the Marcosbanda. A first, unlikely concert to the Ventotene, an uncontrollable public composed of six people and a night spent in a garage in the middle of the cockroaches. And here is that the character and the spirit of the "Skid" is forged, once and for all. Marco, Mariano, Luca, Andrea and Emiliano join their culture, the different and own musical experiences and life.
In 2004, a first self-produced demo.
In 2005, the meeting with Fabrizio Brocchieri in a pub of the capital. Two talk, a beer and the Marcosbanda are a part of CinicoDisincanto, label record, independent, Roman. In the same year, to Rock This Italy, win the Special Self Prize. In June 2006 are finalists to the Prize Fabrizio De André (2° in the standings) and winners of the vote on the Portal Rockol. At “Only Italian Music” they gain the Special Jury Prize (president Mogol).
In 2007 gain, as finalists of Lazium, the national stage of the third edition of First May All The Year. Then in June – exit of the single "Dragau" and in July with the unanimous vote of the jury, conquer the victory of the 10 th edition of the prize Voices For Freedom – a song for Amnesty International.
In October 2007 will be on their first album "Il nome dei pomodori" (tomatoes's name), a job that arises from the desire to set and finalise the passion for good music, the traditional rhythms and all those small nuances of life that go unnoticed. A hit recording that will be the proof of their elegant and almost magical creativity.
In 2008 they conquer "Cornetto Free Music Audition" (opening act Zucchero live tour) and "L'artista che non c'era", one of the most important song writer contest in Italy.
Now Marcosbanda is working on second album and, on next 1th of may (live in Rome), they will present a new single, in defense of animal rights.
