From 1990, the career of the singer and composer MARCOS LIMA comes being characterized for an investment pawned in direction to his assertion as a new talent, recognized by the innovative quality of its repertoire and of its singular vocal interpretation. In the amadurecimento as the interpreter, MARCOS LIMA acts there are many years and already could show their work in two turnées by the Europe, in 1991 and 1994.
In 1995 it was a finalist of the “FESTIVAL da Canção do Rio de Janeiro”, with the song “BATISMO DO MAR”, samba that nominate his first CD. In 1997, it participated and defeated the “FEMPOP - Festival of Popular Music”, in Baurú (SP) with the song “QUINZE ANOS”, partnership with Ivor Lancellotti, receiving of the hands of Mário Lago beyond the prize the trophy that exhibited his name, honored special of the event.
Him first CD, independent, counted on the participation of consecrated musicians as Márcio Montarroyos, Marcelo Martins, Nico Assumpção, Léo Ortiz between others and, to the leave attract attention of some artists for his qualities as the composer and melodista, like by example Danilo Caymmi that recorded the ballad “QUEM DERA”, of its authorship with Márcio Proença and Marco Aurélio.
In the year of 2000, the artist was invited it participate of the “Novo Canto 2000”, project of incentive for renewal of the Brazilian Popular Music. Between the 30 new talents of the project, were chosen the ten best for will be presented in a big show in the consecrated stage of the Canecão - Rio de Janeiro, between them MARCOS LIMA.
In 2002, it was contemplated with more two victories in Festivals of Music: was the winner of the 1o PRÊMIO FASG DE MÚSICA (São Gonçalo - Rio de Janeiro) with the song “APERTE O PASSO” and of the 32º FESTIVAL DE MÚSICA DE BOA ESPERANÇA (MG), with the song “DEIXE ABERTA”, receiving beyond the prize, the trophy “Lamartine Babo”. In July of 2005, with the samba “Para Invejar Caymmi” in partnership with the poet Elisa Lucinda, defeated the IX Festival de Música e Ecologia de Ilha Grande (RJ).
In his second cd that titles “Quem Canta” and is composed of eleven streaks, being nine of its authorship and of its partnerships with others composers among them Márcio Proença, Ivor Lancellotti, José Francisco and Sérgio Natureza, the artist intended to increase a coloring to the songs, drawing a link between what is always by come - the news - and what never can be forgot - the our origins. He approached more of his performance in the stage and could show to big mixture of influences of the Brazilian Popular Music, in a vast and rich one I walk rhythmic and melodic. The introduction of the electric guitars, that brought more “vigor” to the new songs and a “coolness” in the of more traditional nature, was the link that the artist sought for unite so distinct music in an alone disk proposing a free work of labels and with full liberty of artistic expression.
The cd “Quem Canta” was appropriate for compete in three categories to the PRÊMIO TIM DE MÚSICA 2005, and the song “Deixe Aberta”, second streak of the cd, comes being inserted in the programming of diverse Brazilian radios.
