Marcqués is becoming one of the most unique and diverse presences in music today. He surprises most with his natural ability to transition from a laid back, gently natured guy, to a commanding “front man” in an instant. Though difficult to categorize, his diverse style is a flavorful blend of many influences. He's been compared to renowned performers such as Prince, Lenny Kravitz, Seal, and George Michael. In addition to his unique vocal ability, Marcqués writing ability has gained the attention of legendary vocalist, Angela Bofil. Sprinkle on top of that his natural “star quality” and dark-featured good looks and one can no longer deny he possesses that “it" that commands one's attention at every performance. And yet it is his humble spirit that holds interest long after the music stops playing. It's what created a notable fan base for this singer/songwriter/producer in Washington, D.C. It has also proven to be one of the aspects of his being that has quickly jump-started his career transition to New York City. Over recent years, he's caught the attention of regional producers, agents and attorneys, and has begun recording in “The Big Apple”. It is just a matter of time before Marcqués leaves tracks in musical rosters worldwide.

Marcqués is originally from Milwaukee, WI. Growing up in a very rural area, the radio was his closest friend. This began his enduring love affair with music. At age 13, when his family relocated to Peoria, Il., he was exposed to musical styles other than pop. His songwriting style reveals a richly diverse way of seeing the world and his viewpoints are accredited to growing up all over the U.S. and abroad. The content of his lyrical style bares witness to his journeys through the human experience, predominantly the romance department. The sensual emotion that is formulated by his words is captivatingly released in his melodic and passionate delivery. While on stage, one can easily see the deep sensitivity pour out of his seemingly tough exterior. It's equally easy to hear such variety of influence throughout his remarkably unique style.

Marcqués has been fine-tuning his vocal and writing skills by collaborating and producing tracks for a number of singers, producers and bands throughout the US. He has performed at such historic venues as the Lincoln Theatre (Wash., D.C.), and The Washington D.C. Convention Center. He has performed his original songs twice in concert. Having such a varied musical history, Marcqués is truly comfortable on stages large and small, which has enriched the natural rapport he has with an audience. Whether he's performing before an intimate group of 5 or 5,000, Marcqués gives his absolute all every time he's positioned to share himself with the world.

While currently unsigned, Marcqués aspires to make a living doing what he loves most: singing. Ultimately, he works to be a well-established, successful recording artist with a busy touring schedule!
