Biography

Born and raised in Cairns, Australia, Marcus Cappellazzo has been entertaining since his primary school years. His love and passion for music drove him to become the star performer in several musicals and original bands. To accompany his alternative vocals, Marcus plays guitar, drums, and saxophone which lead to his first professional gig at the age of sixteen.

In 2005, Marcus toured with an original band called Lexis Curfew. For two years they played in schools and venues throughout Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. The band had the support of RADD and iTunes while doing a school rock tour. Lexis Curfew soared the charts making them the top third most downloaded album in Australia on iTunes.

Exploring his solo career, Marcus currently uses his vocals, a guitar, loop station, harmonizer pedal, and an electric kick drum with kick, share, crash and high hat pedals that are triggered with his feet. Marcus brings a unique presence to the stage that gets everyone talking about his one man band. He began working on his solo album in 2008. Since then he has become one of Cairns favorite local musicians. He has opened for several Australian and New Zealand artists including; 28 Days, Daryl Braithwaite, The Angels, The Butterfly Effect, The Living End, The Screaming Jets, The Sick Puppies, and Sunk Lotto. Marcus hard work, talent, and dedication paid off in 2009 winning him the title of Best Solo Act in the Cairns Time Out Awards. Since then he has become a two time winner taking the title again for 2010.

Sad To See You Go

Written By: Marcus Cappellazzo

Please don’t walk away
I can see in your eyes you want to stay
We don’t need to sleep let’s dance all night
For tomorrow comes my love
You leave on a flight

Sad to see you go
Sad to see you go away
California girl
Sad to see you go away

Instrumental

Please don’t walk away
I can see in your eyes you want to stay
We don’t need to sleep let’s dance all night
For tomorrow comes my love
You leave on a flight

Sad to see you go
Sad to see you go away
California girl
Sad to see you go away

Tonight will last forever
Tonight will last forever
Tonight will last forever
Tonight will last forever

Instrumental

Please don’t walk away
I can see in your eyes you want to stay
We don’t need to sleep let’s dance all night
For tomorrow comes my love
You leave on a flight

Sad to see you go
Sad to see you go away
California girl
Sad to see you go away

Instrumental

Promises

Written By: Marcus Cappellazzo

It’s a little too late to come around
You bring your smile, but mines upside down
So here you stand in front of me
You lean in for a hug, perhaps you should leave

I’ve been waiting on your promises
And Ohh. Ohh
Your hollow words make no sense
I’ve been waiting on your promises

You’re in my room
A little awkward, hey
You’re asking me, are we okay?
You speak of trust
Don’t try to explain
It took you one night to bring me so much pain

I’ve been waiting on your promises
And Ohh. Ohh
Your hollow words make no sense
I’ve been waiting on your promises

You have places you can go
Try your secret romeo
I don’t really need to know
Just walk away and don’t turn back
Things ain’t always white or black
Self-control is what you lack
Now you should walk right out the door
Want you walk to right out the door
Your wasted words are over done
I can tell you’re not the one
I can tell you’re not the one
I can tell you’re not the one

I can tell you’re not the one
I can tell you’re not the one

Your promises make no sense

Do You Know

Written By: Marcus Cappellazzo

Feeling so good remember those day’s
When two were as one floating the same way
But remember the things that held back time
And feelings for you fresh out my mind
All I have to say
Is what happened to us babe?

We were perfect from the start
Where did we go wrong do you know?
I’m bleeding from the heart
Left out in the dark
Did you know?

I’m so confused, felt this for days
All the dead ends, I’ve created this maze
Twisted and frail, I wont fall to my knees
Oh I’m not quite there, but at least I can breathe
All I have to show
These scars that are healing slow

We were perfect from the start
Where did we go wrong do you know?
I’m bleeding from the heart
Left out in the dark
Did you know?

We were perfect from the start
Where did we go wrong do you know?
That I’m bleeding from the heart
I’m left out in the dark
Did you know?

We were perfect from the start
Where did we go wrong do you know?
That I’m bleeding from the heart
I’m left out in the dark
Did you know?

Science

Written By: Marcus Cappellazzo

Believe in me, I’m not alive
Trust in us to teach you to fly
Cause all you need is a chance to shine
To prove yourself in time
And even if they deny
I wont really mind
I’ll keep pushing forth

Cause time and promises
Will pass you by in this life
If you want something done, do it for yourself
Believe heart, soul, body and mind
Believe in your light
You could have saved yourself
Imagine where you could have been by now
Its not too late you can work it out
To put your feet back on the ground

Not enough, it’s enough
Not enough, it’s enough
Not enough, it’s enough
Not enough, it’s enough
Not enough, it’s enough
Not enough, it’s enough

It’s enough to get me through this
Will it be enough for what we believe in?

Cause time and promises
Will pass you by in this life
If you want something done, do it for yourself
Believe heart, soul, body and mind
Believe
