Marcus Nand - Ziroq

Born the son of an Indian father and an English mother and growing up in the heart of gypsy culture in Southern Spain, Marcus Nand possesses a unique blend of musical and cultural influences, a common thread that runs through all his compositions and projects. He has a deep understanding of traditional flamenco guitar accompaniment which he combines with Arabic and Indian string melodies and sensual raspy vocals that will seduce and evoke in the listener exotic images of desert sands, gypsy camps and the aroma of exotic musky incense...

Marcus comes from a long lineage of traditional Indian singers, tabla players and sitarists. He learned his craft of Flamenco guitar from the Gypsies of Andalucia and still returns on a regular basis to immerse himself in the music and gypsy family life.

Marcus’s guitar playing can be heard on Guitar Masters Vol. 1 alongside guitar greats such as John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, Stanley Clarke, Joe Satriani, Zakk Wylde, Steve Morse, John Scofield and Allan Holdsworth. He has also played all over the world including solo performances at the Palais Des Festivals in Cannes and the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Marcus collaborated with legendary bass player Carmine Rojas (David Bowie, Rod Stewart, Joe Bonamassa) to form Ziroq, and is joined by Tal Bergman on drums/percussion (Billy Idol, Joe Zawinal, Loreena McKennit, Joe Bonamassa), J’Anna Jacoby on Violin (Rod Stewart, Tony Bennett, Michael Crawford, Glen Campbell), Victor Torres on guitar and Paul Blazek on percussion.
