Runaway Train

Written By: Marcy Priest

My love, my best friend
How I regret
So many times I withhold my love
We’ve seen some dark days
The messes we’ve made have hurt us both
And tempt us to give up

And when my feelings wanna ride
That runaway train
They get all caught up in the lie
Better times are in some better place
I listen to the voice inside
It does not change
It does not change
Says love is a choice
Love is a choice we make

To live in lala land
Where love is easy
And it doesn’t seem to cost a single thing
Here comes a different stage
Where newness starts to fade
And discontentment moves in subtly

So I will stay in the high times
And I will stay in the dry times
And I will stay in the in-betweens
One day at a time we’ll find out
What forever really means

Grace

Written By: Marcy Priest,Bryan Jackson, Bryan Jackson

Grace is an island in the middle of the sea
Grace is a giver with a terrible memory
She’s the hardest thing to hand over
But the old friend you’re hoping is home
The only thing to hold on to
When you’ve lost what you valued the most

Grace around the corner
Grace yesterday
Grace everywhere, anywhere
Grace

Grace is a teacher with all of the time you need
Grace is a story with an ever-after ending
She’s the faithful sun in the morning
After night you thought would never end
She’s the whisper of love, no matter what
No matter what, she says again

And even though her heart is true
It’s the hardest thing to believe her
For after all you’ve been working so hard
Just to prove that you do not need her

She’s the robe and the ring and the shoes
And a place at the table waiting for you

Your Love

Written By: Marcy Priest

I’ve been buried in a mountain of regret
Waiting to get what I deserved
On my best day barely standing
Hoping that no one knows the smiles I’ve rehearsed

In the middle of my darkness
In the middle of my shame
You were loving me the deepest
You were calling out my name

Your love, Your love is taking over
Your love, Your love is capturing me
Your love, Your love is taking over
And I’ve never been so, never been so free

Now I’m swimming in an ocean of your grace
Knowing it’s nothing I could earn
So let your love be the language
When I speak, it overflows into the world

You’ve given me a new song
You’ve traded my mourning for dancing
You’ve given me a new song
Jesus in You I have a reason to sing

Another Thing

Written By: Marcy Priest,Bryan Jackson, Bryan Jackson

Oh the blood of Jesus
He is why I’m standing
He’s why I’m moving forward now

You’re trying to break me
You’re pulling me down, down, down
You’re trying to make me feel smaller and smaller
You’ve had it so easy
You’re using the same old lines
But I’m not the same one you can push around this time

And another thing — I’m on to your ways
And another thing — I’m not playing your games
And another thing — I am not the same
And another thing

You try to degrade me
You’re pushing me down, down, down
You’re trying to make me feel weaker and weaker
You tell me it’s over
Just go on lay down and die
But you are mistaken if you think I’m going down without a fight

I didn’t understand just what was inside of me
I had no idea of my identity
I don’t even recognize the look of fear in my old eyes
‘Cause it’s gone

And another thing — I’m on to your ways
And another thing — I’m not playing your games
And another thing — I am changed
And another thing

Into My Head

Written By: Marcy Priest,Bryan Jackson, Bryan Jackson

Why do I question everything you do
Why do I doubt what I know is true
You’ve proven your love over and over again
Through all of the highs and lows
You’ll never leave
How soon I forget

I’ve got to get it into my head
I’ve got to get it through to my heart
I’ve got to get it into my head that you love me

Why do I try to earn your love
Like I’m running a race just to deserve your love
You’ve never made me feel like I had to be good enough
You know me and you still want me
It changes everything

Something so simple yet foreign to me
Oh what freedom in a love without strings

The Awakening

Written By: Marcy Priest,Sonny Priest,Cotey Bowman,Ben Freeman,Will Gaines,Charlie Hall, Charlie Hall

Will you ever trust me
Will you ever take me at my word
Will you ever trust me
What will you do with the truth you’ve heard

How many sunsets
How many sunrises
How many sunsets will it take

I’ll wait

Will you ever trust me
To take you to the places you can’t see
Will you ever trust me
What you will lose you will not need

I want to show you
I want to show you things
I want to show you
But will you come with me

Keep Your Eyes On Me

Written By: Marcy Priest,Sonny Priest, Sonny Priest

Keep your eyes on, keep your eyes on
Keep your eyes on me
Keep your eyes on, keep your eyes on
Keep your eyes on me

I need you to stay awake

When everything around you
Crumbles and confounds you
Know that it was all true
Everything I told you

I want you to watch and wait
I need you to watch and wait

Darkest sky and crown of thorns
Earthquake and a veil torn
You’re standing in a perfect storm
Just hold on ‘til the third morn

You must believe my love when the waters rise
You must believe my love when they come for you at night
You must believe my love even though you will deny
I love you
Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise

Almost Given Up

Written By: Marcy Priest,Stephen Collins,Sonny Priest, Sonny Priest

Like a farmer who is praying for rain
I’ve been so down and so dry
Another rising of the beating sun
And more wandering under a silent sky
Temptation grows
Feeling like you just won’t show

I had almost given up believing
Almost given up thinking you would speak to me
In a word, in a way I could see
I’d almost given up

Another round and I am only taking punches
A should-a-been way past his prime
I keep on showing up day after day
With bad odds and black eyes
Temptation grows
Feeling like you just won’t show

One touch, one word from you
And I’m right back home
One touch, one word from you
Brings life to my bones

The Arrow

Written By: Marcy Priest,Charlie Hall, Charlie Hall

I did not know what I did not know
My sister is a prisoner of deception and fear
Thinks there's no one coming to get her
She’s drowning in despair, choking on despair

I could not see what I would not see
A 12-year old was just bought and sold
On the same highway that I take to church every week

I've been blind to your pain
I've been deaf to your cries
I've been silent while you prayed
Now I'm finally awake

Love is the arrow
Tore into my heart and won't let go
I can't stop, I won't stop, no
Love is the arrow
Tore into my heart and won't let go
I can't stop ‘til I see you home

I’m seeing now, seeing what I needed to see
Though fear and death have marked you
Tried to silence every dream
You're a treasure worth fighting for
You're not nameless anymore to me
You're not faceless anymore to me

I won't be deaf to your cries
Won't be blind to your chains
May my life be an answer to the prayers that you’ve prayed

I'm bringing freedom
Freedom in the name of Jesus
Let there be freedom
Freedom in the name of Jesus
In the name of Jesus

Come Thou Long Expected Jesus

Written By: Traditional Hymn — Arrangement by Marcy Priest,Denver Duncan, Denver Duncan

Come Thou long expected Jesus
Born to set Thy people free
From our fears and sins release us
Let us find our rest in Thee

Born Thy people to deliver
Born a child and yet a king
Born to reign in us forever
Now Thy gracious kingdom bring

Come Thou long expected Jesus

Israel’s strength and consolation
Hope of all the earth Thou art
Dear desire of every nation
Joy of every longing heart
