"**Praise for "The Telling""

Love the music, love the compositions, love the performances, love the deliciously deep lyrics...and the guitar is AMAZING!
Shai Navon, Producer/Engineer/CEO, NY Songwriters Circle NYC July2008

“I’ve been handed a lot of CD’s to listen to... I put this CD on, at first in the background, then I started listening to it intently. Then I listened again, and again. This CD is amazing. I’m really knocked out by it.”
Rob Bowman, Grammy-winning music writer (*Stax Series/Rolling Stones/The Band) May 2005

What a magnificent CD!!! This is real music ... it’s a trip, it’s original, so real and elevating. I keep wanting to hear more, it’s unlike anything else I know.
Skye Michaels, Bandleader/Arranger Los Angeles, CA July 2008

“First-rate...contemporary yet rooted in tradition. Funky, personality-plus music.
Jeff Bateman, former Sr Editor, The Record

I never thought that I would find music to put on that was as satisfying to my ear and my soul as a Joni Mitchell album... I have found it in “The Telling”.Laney Hicks, singer/songwriter Nashville, TN July 2008

Your CD is very beautiful, an honour and a gift to humanity...
Jacques Proulx, violist, I Musici, Montreal

Bio

When asked what kind of music we write and play, we say “liquid acoustic groove”… rhythmic, undulating vocals … the smooth hand of Gadi’s acoustic playing … ethereal chord progressions hovering over steady hypnotic grooves …the fusing of jazz, r&b and middle eastern influences.., and stream of consciousness lyrics that attempt to unite temporal with spiritual, inner with outer worlds, and pathos with humour.

Our first CD TRAPEZE was about taking a leap... it was new, we were new, as writers and players together. We still love the first CD, and so do our fans. But we’re deeply excited about THE TELLING, a more worldly and rooted story about who we are and where we’ve been. Recorded in Toronto and Tepoztlan, Mexico from 2003-07, The Telling was a journey and is, our soul in music. We're grateful to have our third partner, world-wandering hand-drummer Jamie Hudson whose magical stamp is on almost every track. Add the sweet harmonica sounds of Maple Leaf Blues award winner Carlos del Junco to 2 tracks, plus a Toronto-based string quartet to indulge me in my Beatlish fantasy, jazz drummers Marty Frankel and Nick Fraser, the original ‘Doney harp’ and some gruvy friends on BG vocals, and we have our new offering, The Telling.

Feedback from fans and industry alike has been amazing… see the Press page for selected comments.
