Mardi Milligan

Mardi Milligan has been actively writing songs since 1976. Whether it's a speaker engagement, musical performance or business training, Mardi continues to integrate her positive music into everything she does.

Award-winning singer/songwriter and third-generation Montanan from Miles City, Mardi Milligan, recently released her latest CD, Choices, along with a new re-mastered CD of her Old, New, Borrowed ‘n Blue, Milligan Stew, now called Looking Back. With 14 originals on Choices, Mardi draws from her vast repertoire of music and profound experiences of life’s journey with her unique, country sound.

Since her debut as a teenage guest singer on a small, home-town radio station in Miles City, to Missoula’s Heidelhaus in college, Mardi has entertained on stages from Alaska to San Diego—starting as a folksinger to one of the lead singers in the show band, Smile, opening for the Grass Roots, O.C. Smith and El Chicano.

After a hiatus to raise her son, Mardi’s sharing her music again, but this time, as a singer/songwriter, as well. Great Falls Mayor Dona Stebbins says: “Mardi, you are a Montana treasure!” And the Whistleberry Cowboy, Jay Barber, says: “Your music is as refreshing as a dip in a cold mountain stream after a hot and dusty ride.” H

Loving Thoughts

Written By: Music and Lyrics by Mardell Milligan

A thread winds through the universe
If only we could see
A golden thread of peace and love
For each of us through eternity

A thread that brings us happiness
And gives us strength through love
If we could only see it
We’d hear the song of the mourning dove

If you’re quiet and softly listen
For the wisdom of love you’ll see
You’ll hear my LOVING THOUGHTS for you
And you’ll send them right back, right back here to me

My prayer is that someday we’ll see
Love’s the only power
The thread that humbles us with grace
And grants us forgiveness in our final hour

If you’re quiet and you softly listen
For the wisdom of love you’ll see
You’ll hear my LOVING THOUGHTS for you
And you’ll send them right back, right back here to me

So if we’re quiet and we softly listen
For the wisdom of love we’ll see
We’ll hear the LOVING THOUGHTS for us
And we’ll send them right back to friends and family

And the universe will be filled with love
Filled with love, not war, for eternity
