Marga Muzika

Marga Muzika was established in 2009.
From the very beginning the band participated in numerous folk, neo-folk, rock music festivals and concerts in the homeland and abroad, i.e.
 "Empty Hills" (Russia)
 'Harvest" (Russia)
 "Wilno w Gdansku" (Poland),
"Menuo Juodaragis", the independent festival of post-folklore,
"Bardentreffen"  (Nuremberg, Germany), 
"Rozstaje" (Crossroads)  (Krakow, Poland)
"Without Borders" music conference show case (Varna, Bulgaria)

and numerous contemporary folk music and Baltic culture festivals in Lithuania.

In 2013 "Marga Muzika" was nominated for "Eiserger Eversteiner" - German International Folk Music Award, and participated in the series of concerts "Folkherbst" in Malzhaus, Plauen (Germany)

In May 2013 Marga Muzika recorded and published the first album called the same Marga Muzika. Here you can find Lithuanian, Latvian, Belarusian, Polish, Tuvian and Armenian folk songs.

The group also has a wide performance program in Lithuanian folk songs only. The members of Marga Muzika organize various workshops on Lithuanian traditional singing and dances. Some members also teach ancient multipart Lithuanian songs, so called "Sutartines", highly unique examples of folk music. Marga Muzika represents Lithuanian rites, rituals and traditions.
