Biography

Margaret Wilder's music is familiar to many as she is impressive both as a performer and recording artist.  She has played at some of the best stages and festivals in the Northwest, sharing some of those stages with famed artists such as Lydia Pense and Cold Blood and John Lee Hooker Jr.  Established fans will love her strong R&B style that they all know, as complimented with new sounds that provide exciting, added dimensions.   Heavily influenced by blues and jazz at an early age, Wilder's passion for R&B continues to grow and evolve over the years. Her 2006 debut cd “Don’t Wanna Wait” fused blues, rock, and R&B in such a way to evoke the classic stylings of Etta James along with the new sounds of performers like Annie Lennox and Nora Jones.  Her most recent collection of tunes dig in to solid funky grooves with powerful vocals, trading out a bit of her familiar blues piano for gritty Hammond, Rhodes and Clav.  Wilder's originals from her debut album to her newest releases of "Where's My Cello'" and "I'm the One" demonstrate a truly eclectic compositional talent.
