Margaret Lane

 Saraland, Alabama, USA
BandChristianCountry

I believe in a song still telling a story. Hard loving that never dies of course a little sour doesn't hurt either.

Biography

My influences have to be my parents and their love of diverse music.
I was raised on solid old country. The greats like Loretta Lynn, Willie Nelson and a little ETC .
I think what sets me apart is my willingness to still listen to all genres and respect the diverse back grounds.
I don't think my story is very interesting.
Just to sum it up without boring people, I came from a fairly large family. My father was an acholic and my mother has always been a God fearing woman.
I was pregnant at the ripe old age of fifteen and on my own at sixteen married to an acholic/addict and divorced by the age of twenty eight.
Wow, talk about starting over with two kids and a bad past!
I am now very blessed. I am married and I have two beautiful children who thank God are nothing like ME in the wilder sense!

Lyrics

Hands of a Working Man

Written By: Margaret J. Lane

Hands of a working man

Verse 1

I watch the sunset as you cross the field

I looked around at all I helped you build

Our hands brush as were passin’ in the barn

It seems more and more these days it’s All about the farm

Verse 2

My hands have lost the softness

That you loved so much

You leave my body longing for

Your sweet touch--

Chorus

I have the hands of a working man

I want to slip on that velvet glove

And let you feel my touch--

Slip off my blue jeans

Slide into those satin sheets

And show you what love means--

Make sweet love to me

With these hands of a working man

Verse3

We’ve forgotten how it feels in each others arms

I want things back the way they were before This farm

Verse4

There’s days that I long for and times I wont forget

I promise if you spare this today

That’ll be a night you wont regret.

I want to turn this thing around and let you lay my body down.

Repeat Chorus

Make sweet love to me, with these hands of a working man.

Tonight I Won't Love You

Written By: Margaret Lane

Verse 1

I THINK I’LL LOVE YOU TILL I CAN’T GO NO MORE

AND MY FEET GET TIRED OF WALKIN OUT THAT DOOR

WHEN YOU’RE MEMORIES STOP HAUNTING ME

THAT’S WHEN I’LL BE TRULY FREE

Verse 2

HOW MUCH MORE CAN MY HEART TAKE

‘TILL IT WON’T RECOVER FROM ANOTHER BREAK

BARTENDER CAN YOU CALL MY FRIEND DOWN

JOSE’S GONNA HELP ME DROWN.... ALL MY MISERIES

Chorus

TONIGHT I'LL FORGET YOU AND ALL THAT WE'VE BEEN THROUGH

YOUR MEMORIES WON'T FOLLOW ME THROUGH THOSE SWINGING DOORS

UP THERE ON THAT BARSTOOL, NOT OUT ON THAT DANCE FLOOR

ONE MORE SHOT AND WE’LL BE THROUGH

FOR TONIGHT I WON'T LOVE YOU.

Verse 3

WHILE WE’RE OUT ON THE DANCE FLOOR

THOUGHTS OF YOU WON’T BE HERE ANYMORE

JOSE WILL WRAP ME IN HIS WARM EMBRACE

AND HELP ME TO FORGET YOUR FACE

VERSE4

BEFORE HE TAKES ME BACK TO THE BAR

HE’LL SPIN ME ROUND JUST ONCE MORE

SET ME UP ON MY BARSTOOL

AND TALK ME OUT OF BEING YOUR FOOL

(REPEAT CHORUS)

GOD FORBID I STEP BACK TO THAT PLACE
AND ALL THE MEMORIES HE HELPED ERASE

WITH ONE MORE SHOT AND WE'LL BE THROUGH
FOR TONIGHT I WON'T LOVE YOU.

South Paw

Written By: Margaret Lane

I can remember
I was just three
He walked out on momma and me
It didn't matter much to my momma...

He was a useless man
She'd always been told
He was wild man she'd never hold
Just a chain in her life of drama...

Pre chorus:
It was a screen door slamming
Pissing match yelling
Bitter end to what was sweet

Chorus:
Now I'm a beer drinking
Jäger slinging
Daughter of a
Witchy woman
You don't wanna cross my path
Yeah I'm a hell raising
Brown eyed Cajun
Put yo hands on me I'm raging
And I'll show you how it's done

It was a cold December
When momma surrendered
For the crime that she'd done
She said she'd do it all over again...

I heard her scream
He put is hands on me
But my babies crossed the line
Set me down ill do my time...

Pre chorus:
It was a screen door slamming
Pissing match yelling
Bitter end to what was sweet
(Chorus)

Bridge:
I'm a south paw y'all
I'm coming on hard
I'm a south paw y'all
I'm coming on hard
I'm a southpaw y'all ....

(4 beats) back to chorus

I'm a beer drinking
Jäger slinging
Daughter of a
Witchy woman
You don't wanna cross my path
I'm a hell raising
Brown eyed Cajun
Put yo hands on me I'm raging
(Wrap the complete chorus)

Gypsy soul

Written By: Margaret Lane

I'm waiting on a lady
A brown skin lady
Eyes so big they'll warm you like the sun

A free spirit baby
She's wide-eyed and crazy
A speaker of truth
She's a muse for all I've done

But I'll just wait on
Lord I'll just wait on

Chorus
She was mine for a while
Thought if live off her smile
Thought she was my hand to hold
To watch the treasures unfold
Waiting while the days grow old
And mine to the end
I should have known you can't hold a gypsy soul

My nights are mistaken
That my heart isn't breaking
Searching for anything to shake the cold

Nothing compares to the
Scent of her hair
And her skin so smooth
It all lets you know she's there

But I'll just wait on
Lord I'll just wait on
(Repeat chorus)

Bridge
La da da, da da
La da da da da
La da da, da da

To see paradise

Written By: Margaret Lane

Blue skies are all around us
Cotton fields as far as they'll go
Sunshine beaming down upon us
Heating up and warming our souls

Birds singing and the air is clear
Trees rustling in our ears
Sounds of life are all around us
Reminding us that you are near

Be still and know that you are here

Chorus:
Your the one, your the one who made us
Your the one who sent His son to save us
Your the one who'll open our eyes
Your the one, your the one who made us
Your the one who sent His son to save us
Your the one who'll open our eyes
To see paradise

Black skies are pouring down
When thunders crashing round
Feels like we're on shaky ground
Thats where our faith is made sound

Waves of life are always at bay
On solid ground is where we'll stay
Your calm surrounds us like a ring
That's where we'll here the angels sing

The Lord of Host is his name

(Repeat chorus)

Bridge:
With your everlasting, love surpassing never fading word

Repeat bridge- go back to chorus

Songs of Freedom

Written By: Margaret Lane

Hear the sound of Gods freedom
echoing through glorious praise

Prison walls could not contain us
shaking the ground and loosening chains

Let us rise
Shout songs of freedom
Let His name fill the streets
Refuse to move till the enemies see us
Dancing a dance to the song of freedom!

Feel Gods strength whaling up inside us
as we stand and proudly proclaim

Holy Spirit please ignite us
as we fan the eternal flame

Let us rise
Shout songs of freedom
Let His name fill the streets
Refuse to move till the enemies see us
Dancing a dance to the song of freedom!

Down and Out

Written By: Margaret Lane

When your down and out
Just Iike the weather
You can feel it all

The weight of a feather
Is a heavy load
You can't bear no more, no more

You can hear his voice
Just like its down the hall
So still and so small, so small

(Chorus)

Saying "Come to me child
Leave your worries at my feet now.
Trust in me child
Lean not on what you see now
I'll renew your strength, I'll restore where your weak, and I'll give you a new mind."

I can feel the pause
I have nothing
Left in me Lord

This very last seed
Is all thats left of my dreams
Set this captive free
Like those men who once dreamed
Would you reminded me, remind me

(Chorus)

Saying "Come to me child
Leave your worries at my feet now.
Trust in me child
Lean not on what you see now
Saying "Come to me child
Leave your worries at my feet now.
Trust in me child
Lean not on what you see now

Bridge
I'll renew your strength, I'll restore where your weak, and I'll give you a new mind.
I'll renew your strength, I'll restore where your weak, and I'll give you a new mind.

The Bottle and Me

Written By: Margaret Lane

He left me long ago
Not for what he couldn't have
But what he couldn't hold
He said girl you've changed
This house just ain't a home, so I'll be moving on

Pre-Chorus
Now it's just the bottle and me

Chorus
Your my sweet sinful mess
Try to hide the smell of you
On my breath
You keep me warm when nights are cold
And no one has to know
Your my sweet, sweet sinful mess

It's not an option I suppose
To let go of what I loved
While the bottle had taken hold
He's got my mind and heart
But the bottles buried in my soul, I just can't let go
(Chorus)

Bridge:
It's hard to let go when it's all you have known
It's all make believe, smoke and dreams till its gone
Then I realize, this house just ain't a home
Just the bottle and me

Chorus

Shine

Written By: Margaret Lane

You give me peace
In knowing
I'm not alone
And your holding
Me tight
All through the night
In this ole storm

You said theres trials
And this worlds tribulation
There'll be sorrows
And frustration
You said don't worry child
For this world I've overcome

Chorus:
You have mercy
On this old soul
You shined your light in the deepest darkest holes
You shined your light, your ever lasting light
Through the night, you shined it bright you shined it bright

I face trouble
Most every day
I need your help Lord
To keep it at bay
You keep me steady
Along life's narrow road
Because for me what you have
This world can't hold

Repeat chorus

Bridge:
You hold the keys to death, hell and the grave
In your shelter, in your shelter is where I'll stay

Sweet Jesus

Written By: Margaret Lane

Jesus, sweet Jesus
Lord send down you rain
Wash this tired body
Let me feel no more pain

Im tired Lord
And I'm weak
Oh, I just can't go on

Jesus, sweet Jesus
Revive these dry bones

Send your angels
Heavenly army
Filled with Gods sweet grace

I pray the angel
Of mercy
Shines down on my face

Dry my tears Lord
I can't see
Take these layers off of me

Jesus, sweet Jesus
Pray your love and mercy on me
