Biography

Margarette Evans makes music that takes you back to early 70's Billy Joel and Elton John, without ever sounding like anyone other than herself. She is often compared to female contemporaries such as, Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan as well. She breaks hearts and stirs emotions with songs about God, life, and relationships.

Margarette started her career in Louisville Kentucky, then she moved to Nashville to focus on her songwriting craft, where she began co-writing and playing writer’s nights, and eventually wound up in New York. Margarette's music has been featured on countless radio stations. She has also toured the southeastern part of the United States, playing at Border's Bookstores, Barnes & Noble, Kentucky Kingdom Six Flags, and countless other bars and coffee shops in between.

Margarette’s music has been well received, and she continues to earn positive press regarding her music. Laura Shine, DJ for WFPK in Louisville writes, “Margarette Evans’ CD is piano driven gorgeous intense pop. Deeply personal tunes and perfect for a rainy day”, and T.E. Lyons of Louisville Eccentric Observer (LEO) says, “She brings extra elements to striking portrayals of despair and emotional resilience”.

Margarette has released a self-titled CD which she still sells at shows, and is currently in the studio working on her latest release. Margarette's music is dream like. She is a pop-rock, singer-songwriter seated behind a heart-broken piano.
