Margo, Margo is one of those wonderful musical surprises you discover upon walking into a gig at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre or Gallery Connexion. With their eclectic mix of music inspired by Arcade Fire, Wintersleep, Hey Rosetta!, and Broken Social Scene this versatile line-up will even conjure up images of the early Jefferson Airplane playing the Fillmore West. But this band puts its own spin on everything it does, with cascading piano intros, soaring vocals, a violin that swoops and swirls, and a guitarist that prowls his corner of the stage as he dispenses chords and slicing riffs. Playing with the intentions of taking their audience on a musical journey of highs and lows, they come out swinging right from the start packing emotion and energy into every song.
